Posted in Thailand thread, but I think this deserves it's own..

Only a matter if time since they announced domestic upgrade point increases...QFF points continually being devalued...

Acting like the government...give with one hand (double SC, double points) take with the other...no announcement either...should be put in their Christmas offer as well..10k increase in points required for Zone 5 upgrades

From here Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Flight Upgrades - International Flight Upgrades SYD to SIN from Discount Economy (O class) to Business is 40k pts (Zone 5). Yet this is when I request it..

Maybe they are increasing the upgrade points required for all sale fare buckets (maybe in line with the re-jigging of fare buckets)

Email just received from Qantas

Would you please document when QFF points have been continually devalued.

From my perspective of near 20 years of membership of QFF, in general "points" and the earn/burn have indeed continually been devalued.

Weeks / months / years, It does not matter.

Kinda like inflation?

It's a mistake and related to the domestic upgrades increase, the way it's coded in their system I am betting its not differentiating.

The points it quoted for SYD-SIN discount economy to business still says 40000 points (this was previously already upgradeable, i.e. not enabled by the recent promotion). However the flight is in December, not Jan 2014.

In the same boat, have a flight to HK booked in January 2014 - Qantas website points table and calculator says 40,000 pts from Discount Economy to Business, but my account is asking for 50,000 pts? I only have 42,000 pts.... will Qantas be fixing this soon ?
