Qantas Lost Property - Good and improvements

I once 'lost' a very thick but 'worthy' book on my domestic inbound to SYD.:)

Was so relieved to find it waiting for me in the F lounge.:(

Had the unfortunate experience of leaving my action camera on board QF7 at the start of my holiday (23 Dec). Whilst I was waiting for my connecting flight in DFW, realised camera was left in one of the small compartment in 4K. Called the WP and agent said she couldn't help and instead referred me to the DFW Baggage Services. Left all details and was told the same thing - They will call back once they find something. As it's a small camera, I doubt, it was removed at DFW. Once I get back home, I will need to start my investigative work to follow the tracks of my A380!

I left my phone on a Qantas plane 3 days ago and still haven't heard back. I've left a message with the Sydney lost property dept but they haven't gotten back to me. Just wondering if anyone else has had an item returned after this long? I guess it's probably a busy time for them. I really hope I can get my phone back :(

What kind of phone. Many smartphones these days allow you to lock, wipe and even see the location of your phone if you have the features turned on.

It's an iPhone and I have activated Lost Mode and Find my iPhone but unfortunately it's still in flight mode so it can't connect to use these features. I've been trying to locate it a few times each day but it's still offline (in flight mode). If it's connected to the internet / taken out of flight mode it has been set to display a message that it's lost with an alternative contact number where I can be reached.

I might have to involve the Airline Customer Advocate (ACA) if I don't hear anything soon.

I also used the qantassource jet tracker to see where the plane went after my flight. It went back to Sydney initially then to a different regional airport so it might also be worth calling that airport which I will do tomorrow, but I think it would have to be with Sydney domestic lost property. Hopefully they are just busy - I'm unsure of how long this process usually takes.

At least you'll know if someone has found it and tries to use it, as its address will briefly pop up.

Hopefully a good outcome, but you never know, if another passenger found it they might just keep it. That said, with activation lock, they'll be out of luck if they do.

Had my own dilemma with an IPad the first air ......2013 model. I wonder wether QF30 Lost property in Melbourne or Hong Kong will find it? It was this morning however I am not holding my breath. Have done the recommended steps as written above by members even rang the Lost and Found in HKG they were helpful.

My next step is looking at insurance options ..... will have to make a statement with the Police.

With a missing 2013 model, I would prefer a more up-to-date device rather than finding the lost item.

Phone was in lost property all along. It was just near-impossible to reach them and have it returned. Ended up having to contact baggage services to get some assistance, and also make a complaint and involve the ACA before anyone actually helped me. Thankfully I was able to get it returned!
