I found this thread for exactly the same reason.

I have a single lounge pass to giveaway with a Dec 4th expiry.

Created an account to do it and found I can't create a thread to give something away for 30 days.

Thanks for the welcome FF to AFF (from AJF). 'tis looking like a govt dept with all the TLA's.

I think the original poster (meeeeeee) nailed it:

"Perhaps the restriction should only apply on requesting passes (replying to threads), and not giving them away (starting new ones?)"

It would be good if the forum permissions can handle that, more freebies for members.
