I think I'd stop flying Qantas if they started serving Pepsi

I think i'd stop flying Qantas if another Frequent Flyer program did a status match.

Oh wait... ;)

(sitting in the SYD F Lounge, awaiting a BA flight, crediting to AA ;))

I personally prefer Diet Dr. Pepper which American Airlines serves even in Why.

However, it is only served if ordered with the appropriate "Dacctrrr Peeeprrrr" pronunciation. If British or Australian English is used, the Y dragon will oven roast you straight in your seat

Try and find Dr Pepper Zero. It's amazing (I found it in London, and will be bringing some back with me that's for sure!).

And after my J flight from MEL to SYD this morning, I have to question the type of pax that are really frequenting Business cabins.

The conversation (with the admittedly brilliant FA I had serving me today) went like this:

Her: 'Will you be joining us for morning tea? We have a french style toasted sandwich, or a plate of fresh fruit'
Me: "Do you mean a Croque Monsieur?"
Her: ' Yes! I've been discussing with my colleagues the best way to tell passengers what it is as none of them have known what a croque monsieur is!'
Me: "It's just a Croque Madame without the Egg :D"

(I did run down to her what the Croque Madame was as she'd not heard of it).

The foil cover on the sandwich did actually have 'Croque Monsieur' on the sticker too.

Apparently I'm cultured and stuff. She said "You obviously must travel the world a lot if you actually know what it is!". It was said in good faith and not intended to be poking fun or anything either.

Perhaps she just had a bunch of the hi-viz brigade in the past ;)

Yep, it's a UK oddity as Dr. Pepper gets licensed to Coca Cola there and they therefore release the diet variety as part of their "zero" range. There's a little UK shop @ Bondi Junction here in Sydney, they sometimes have it as an import :p

Why not have Coke and Pepsi?

and.... coke zero?
Why not Cola light?

And while we are at it surely they would have plenty of room to stock Creaming Soda, Passiona, Iced Tea, Bitter Lemon, Solo, Schweppes lemonade, flavoured mineral water, cordial. Have I left anything out?

I have heard of the others, but what on earth is Bitter Lemon?? :)

Yes i've googled it, but have still never heard of it. Is it an old drink?

No. It is still sold now. Schweppes I believe. It is actually quite refreshing.

Gin and bitter lemon is lovely!

and I just got off a BA flight in SIN. You want cough meals, fly Y+ with them. Second row and they ran out of my meal option. 4 people got food before me, and it was a full cabin. Not good enough really (and I'm cranky; 5 hours sleep in the past 30 hours).

Bitter lemon is basically Lemon flavored Tonic water - these both have the underlying flavour of Quinine .

Probably about time for airlines to give you an option in MMB (through their own systems) allowing you to select which meal you want, as very often you don’t really choose between two things you really want ;)

Doesn’t make sense in Y with the amount of seats, but certainly Y+, J. F should have enough of everything.

BA Y+ is basically a bigger seat with Economy service, including the same meals as. I bet Y was served before Y+ ...

The meals were larger serves in china dishes. They may be the same food, but the servings were different.

I was upgraded on SIN-LHR to J so I had a lovely feed there and got plenty of sleep. 60B upper deck 747 is not so bad ;)

I certainly wouldn't be surprised! Probably "back to front" from the back galley. :)

Alas not even that. The trolleys were wheeled to the front of the cabin and then moved backwards.

In his credit, the FA offered me the vegetarian option, but as I don't eat tofu (and it was noodles with tofu) i declined. The 'snack' looked like something that should have been thrown out a week ago (some sad looking excuse for a roast beef roll that was harder than a rock). So I didn't eat on that leg, but the longer leg made up for that (Thank you BA for having Taittinger in J!)

Blood Orange ...for me.
Next time you are @ SYD T1 and have access to the Qantas International Business Lounge you must go and visit the ice confection counter

They are made fresh each day (so flavours change) but sometimes they have a blood orange that is so awesome even the front desk staff rave about it!

Blood Orange :)

Definitely something wrong there then... Not even an explanation from the FA? (Hmm... So the caterer or ground staff? Take your pick. :p)
