Hey guys,

Looking at booking today as the QF sale prices end today ($801 rtn on .com.au)

Would anyone suggest going with these fares for around $550 on expedia.BR or waiting for a possibly cheaper sale fare come boxing day?

Thanks,
Will

would suggets its not up to others to confirm if you should go with this. IMHO you should be asking yourself.

1) What is the price if I Book through alternatives ie QF direct or even say TG

2) Am I happy with the price being offered?

3) Am I happy with the dates

4) Would it be end of the world if a cheaper fare came out?

5) How would I feel if the prices went up even during another sale.

I personaly would be happy with that price. But that is just me. You must decide for your self as to if it is good enough for you to go ahead with or Not.

I would be extremely happy with that price. Have you tried the one night hotel accomodation discount?

i am seeing the flights cheaper with 1 night accommodation - is there a catch there - i assume they are completely independant from a booking perspective if i just no show the hotel?

Thanks again :)

Corect just book one night at the cheapest possible hotel for one night and dont show they make money and you save money :D WIN WIN

Not quite a win win, compared to saving the itin.

Do you need to go through the booking steps before saving the itinerary for this to work?

I think so - don't have time for the fine detail but see some of the slightly more recent posts (November?) from this thread:

http://www.australianfrequentflyer....-airfares/qantas-syd-mel-sin-510-a-48002.html

Thanks Serfty, i had browsed the first 25 pages there, and the last 15 or so - i think that thread needs some condensing! :)

Since once the info is entered, its either put in CC details or bust, i assume i have gone as far as i can without committing.

Will likely go ahead as with a cheap nights accom, the flights are not $110 BRL cheaper per person - bringing the price before CC exchange to approx $487 - which i won't argue with :)

I am a travel agent and have browsed the historical fare levels for QF... and they don't get this low for BKK often at all.

Thanks everyone for the input

Just booked :)

MEL-SYD-BKK return in August for $1038 BRL - ~$490 + currency fee.

Main benefits to outbound - flying on EK Metal, so we get a leisurely domestic flight to sydney, and have a cosy 3.5 hours in the F Lounge on the way.

QF Metal on the way back for possible, if unlikely, upgrade possibilities, and an earlier arrival :)

Surely a trip report will ensue.

:)

The itin trick didn't work on my last booking a couple of weeks ago, but did on my other booking about 4-5 weeks ago. :| Not sure it's still working.
