QANTAS Member number question.

I was made an orphan of the BA executive club which I joined circa 2000/01 and was adopted by the QF in April 2003 and am a 43xx_XX. The upside to this was that I didn't have to pay the joining fee!

Jul 1993 for me 029xx_x

Joined QFF because Ansett Golden Wings were giving me troubles

I'm so happy my parents signed me up when I was only 7 years old haha,

Join date was Feb 1996, number is 104****.

Not 100% sure when my dad joined, but his number is 062****, He's Lifetime Silver, only got ~7200 SCs, I'm gonna catchup soon, made WP this year, and with Double Status Credit Promotions, I should be Lifetime Gold by the time I'm 35.

(But by that time there will have been so many enhancements, it'd probably be useless anyway haha

That would be me....
Cheers
JB

Ikara, just had to say, love your avatar/profile picture. Haven't seen one of those for years! Loved that system.

For those interested in dates vs numbers, I joined QFF in 2002, with a 4xx_xx_ number, signed my kids up Dec 2010, they are 8xx_xx_.

Cheers,
Judd

I've had the pleasure of meeting and serving a frequent flyer with the number 0000001

I'm 06 something or other. but that number one...wow. I was looking at number plates the other day. 5 digit fetches around 10k, 3 digit - around $100k. I never got as far as single digit. Makes me wonder if there could ever be a secondary market for QF numbers.

Jan 2001 for me, and i'm 304xx_x. Parents joined up in late 2001 and early 2002, and they're 394xx_x and 401xx_x respectively.

Of course, EDR has really accelerated those numbers

And alas no 'after market' for FF numbers. When a member ceases to use the account, lets it lapse, or ceases to exist, the number is never re-used (that we have evidence of anyway). You cannot take over another members account either.

Not a decade or so out there serfty? 1994 methinks! (unless an odd thing happened withe number sequences)

April 1994 for me, 044xx_x - parents joined me up before our big family holiday. Amazing how much better value the points were back then. Points earned from one RTW in economy, ADL-SYD-LAX-SFO-LHR-SIN-ADL plus ADL-DRW return were enough for around Australia tickets in business, ADL-xMEL-HBA-xMEL-xBNE-CNS-DRW-ASP-ADL.

Both AN and QF had the 11,000km 37,500 point wholly Australia trips in Business class. I flew on 4 of them and booked two for my oldest daughter's Honeymoon.

Hi All,

I just want to check something. When I joined QANTAS Frequent Flyer I was given 5xx_xx_ as a number. When people join the club are the member numbers ordered in sequence?

Thanks

Yes,they are in numerical sequence,so I've been told by Q..
I joined as a life member in 1998, my No is 12nnnnn

Cheers and Beers....

I don't think that's the case using your own example, as per a previous post and my own experience, in 1997 they were issuing 174xx_x.

It may be the case now, but back in the 90's I am not so sure. They used to have temporary cards attached to application forms. The numbers on those were a bit scattered.

Sent from my HTC Legend using AustFreqFly App

.

Have to agree with you here, the big Q told me the same as you have posted when I spoke to them this morning on the subject.........Big difference to what I was told by them a few years ago...Ah well ...

Cheers & Beers.......

all 5 FMs joined in 1998 and have 202xx_x nos. Interestingly Master Fm went gold that year and received QC membership even though he was 10 years old.

If I remember correctly when I first joined QFF in 2003 it was 30,000 QFF points in business class to go SYD-PER-ADL-MEL-SYD (don't think I could include BNE) with an overnight transit in each as a transit was OK. Not sure if it was advertised or a quirk in the system but it was possible to book it that way.

Unfortunately that disappeared with the enhancements of May 2005 as each overnight transit now recalculates as a new sector in the award booking.

Joined September 07 and mine starts with 58xx_xx the mrs joined 2 minutes before me and she has two numbers before me
