Qantas or Emirates J to London?

i need to book Melb to London return, before midnight tonight ( to take advantage of double points )

we we are going mid May in J class.

should we go QF metal all the way, or do some legs on Emirates?

QF J is nice, and the staff a bit more friendly in my experience but for me the Emirates bar in the A380 is epic!

I know our booking is only about a month away, but no seat availability in emeral isle both ways.
also, no window pairs avail, only middle row 17.
With Mr TQ being WP, we love rows 12 and 13, either A,B or JK

I'm surprised as still the J class sale fares available.
? Are some seats blocked like domestic?
