Just wondering if anyone can advise what type of meal and service is provided on the overnight Per - Melb service in J,
I have a horrible feeling it will be along the lines of the VA meal/service (sorry thats a bit over generous).

Thanks

I would suggest it would be identical to the PER-SYD red eye in which I believe there is a thread.

It's a supper service consisting of soup and arancini balls then the cafe breakfast which is essentially just a muffin. Very limited.

You're not far off, sadly.

I strongly recommend you eat beforehand in the lounge. (Being such a short overnight sector, this is probably a good idea anyway so you can hopefully maximise sleep on board.)

Thanks, thought as much, its a bummer for me as I dont sleep and like to enjoy the experience, I take it liquid refreshments are available no problems (well hopefully they answer the call button)

Speaking from experience, beverages are certainly available. Go as hard as you want. Sunglasses will be mandatory on arrival.

I believe there will be lounge access on arrival into Melbourne so that's an option for brekkie if the food offerings onboard were insufficient.

Food offerings are as others have stated - very limited, and you have to ask for it. But if you do there's no trouble getting regular drinks etc.

Only if Platinum, I believe. No arrival access for J passengers.

One exception to this: “We also offer access to the lounge for Business Class passengers on select overnight flights from Perth to the eastern seaboard.”

And those select overnight flights are QF568 to SYD, QF648 to MEL and QF652 to BNE.
