Qantas Platinum - Entry to Emirates Lounge in Dubai?

Hi all,

I am travelling Brisbane-Dubai, Dubai-Edinburgh. From what I can work out, the first flight Emirates/QF codeshare, second flight Emirates. Platinum FF with Qantas.

Travelling with family (wife + 3YO and 7YO). I understand that kids are considered guests (how frustrating) - but I just want to check that with the QF platinum status I will have access to 1st class lounge for me and 1 adult.

I think I will suck up the cost of paying for lounge for the kids (at least they get a discount).

If anyone knows a better way to do it - please let me know - I'm a bit of newbie when it comes to this stuff.

QF/EK platinums are allowed 1 adult and 2 children (17 and under) into EK operated lounges when flying on EK.

No issues last year as a WP and four flights through DXB with getting wife and two kids (15/12) into the first lounge. Platinums have a different guest policy which you can find on the Emirates website that allows 2 children, as mentioned above.

@madrooster and @BrockF - Thank you very much both for your responses. That does sound hopeful, and not what I had come to expect (although when booking the flights through QF, I thought it would be fine, but didn't realise there was any difference in lounge access between Emirates and OW partners).

In saying that - I cannot actually find any confirmation of that children aren't included as guests, having quickly perused the EK website. Just because I really don't want to stressing until I get to the lounge entry gate - do you know where I might be able to find this Platinum policy you speak of?

There is no page that details the fact it covers QF platinums as well. If that doesn't suit you, unfortunately you'd have to sit out.

Eugh! Really? I'm perfectly happy to take your word for it ... but boy it'll be a nervous walk up to the lounge, without having seen a clear and concise policy! I take some comfort that more here seem to say that we'll all get in (without one-time access passes) than not ...

You can always go up on your own with all 4 boarding passes and ask them before going back downstairs to get everyone...

Yup, good idea. That's probably exactly what I will do.

I guess I thought that it would be quite a regular scenario such that there would be a tonne of information all in alignment. Perhaps not though.
