Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Exciting mail received today. Qualified 3 weeks ago and have already been invited to an event in Brisbane this weekend. Unfortunately, I'm not able to attend.

Wow. I’m still listening to crickets

I’m yet to receive welcome call. No invites (and I live in BNE). Maybe it’s a “boys club” thing o_O

That’s pretty poor. I got my welcome call the very next day after qualifying and then the welcome email was sent after the call

Have you been in touch with the P1 team? I'm sure they'll be mortified and (hopefully) do something to make it up to you.

Especially as in the newsletter the staff member interviewed loves welcoming newly-qualified P1's :)

As I (and others) have said before, the best value in P1 is when travel things go wrong. I just sufferred such - my simple QF28 flight SCL-SYD was not just delayed a few hours, but we also diverted to AKL for medical emergency. Throughout this "ordeal" the P1 team have been in constant contact with me , both proactively to advise me of delays and rearrange my ongoing flight, but have also responded to emails of mine within minutes. This is truly good.

So far I have been very impressed with all the staff in the P1 team. Tonite "Romy" was great.

I agree with the team. All incredibly helpful and nice. Haven't personally dealt with Natasha but those who I have dealt with have been great.

Tracy was the person who welcomed me and found it quite funny that she was speaking to a 19 year old (to be honest I am not surprised. Its not that normal). How many P1s are there anyway?

That is a mystery never to be divulged. I agree with the comments that there are about 2-3000

I guessed as much about the mystery. So I'm guessing that I am one of the only 20 year old Platinum Ones? (And yes it is very scary, but thanks to DSC it made it pretty easy)

Many on AFF (due to know how and playing the system) are probably in the poorer ranks, and I acknowledge that I am in that sub group with great pride. In the latest newsletter I had a part attached that said I was in the "top 30 %", due to km flown. That makes sense. I seek cheap tickets but fly much long haul.

Tomorrow (5th July?) I requalify. But be careful young camel, flight is bad for you. Excellent that you attain wondrous status, but it hurts to do so. The body, the mind, the soul. Try to explain it to someone outside the very FF reality. It makes no sense.

Yes. I did. The girl was incredibly rude to me and asked me who gave me the P1 team phone number. I explained that I had qualified weeks beforehand and was hoping to receive my card and bag tags shortly. She asked for my QFF number, and then snapped someone else’s name back at me. I repeated my name again and she then read the OPs member number back to me?!?!

I was actually after help with a flight issue for my grandson. She put me through to the frequent flyer team in AKL and a male was even ruder to me and refused to discuss the issue unless my 11 year old grandson called himself. (I set up and manage all my children’s and grandchildren’s accounts) Very unpleasant experience.

I’ve now received 1 card & 2 sets of bag tags.

Still waiting for “the phone call”

I would recommend emailing the P1 email address with a complaint about both issues. That’s no way to treat a top tier customer.

Plus I’ve had the P1 team assist with issues on my dads bookings (he’s also P1) but with no issue. The res team also has helped out in the past.

The who gave you your number although rudely done could be because you dialed from a number not on your account/ private number. I think their system pulls up P1 details from the phone number (as I’ve been greeted by name by just ringing from my mobile)

Given your age, have you considered moving your spend to a FFP which offers LTP? As a fellow AFFer in their 20s, albeit some years older than you, I'm hoping to get a good 40+ years out of LTG, which I should hit by 32 or 33 if I continue my current travel patterns :D

I dialed from my mobile which is the only phone number on my profile, introduced myself and quoted my own P1 QFF number.

I haven’t flown with Qantas since and have booked my trip to Europe next year on CX!

I could easily maintain P1 next year with trips I have planned, however, I think I’ve had enough!

After a pm from another P1 member, it’s definately a “boys club” problem. My profile has Rugby as my main interest

I have sent an email.

Very sad situation. I also assume she doesn't realise the P1 phone number is displayed on your FF profile as soon as you qualify?
