Qantas point earn rate on LAN & TAM to be reduced

Re: New (enhanced) QFF earning table for LAN and TAM

No more 1 to 1 earn on LAN.
Of course. Just as LA is upgrading its A343s with their new B788s on the SCL-AKL-SYD route.

Re: New (enhanced) QFF earning table for LAN and TAM

Checked other partners that I frequent sometimes (CX,KA,QR,MH) and there appears to be no changes on the already low rates of earn.
I wonder if these LAN/TAM changes were part of the wider partner points review that was being completed? or if this was separate?

I think IB is the last QFF partner to still earn 1 to 1 in Y, I predict this will change too...
As for the integration of all partner airlines into some sort of post-simpler geographical zone based earning, I'm confident this will make QFF the most complex airline loyalty program out there by a strong margin!
Hopefully this would create some additional loopholes, like flights from northern Japan to eastern Siberia being classified as Asia to Europe...

Just noticed in an email I got from Qantas today that LAN and TAM point earning rates with QFF are going to be slashed.

This seems to be a follow-up to "simpler and fairer" - after already slashing status credit earn on LAN & TAM (and most of their partners), QF are now also significantly reducing points earned in certain fare classes on LA or JJ flights.

There'll be no changes to points earned in full economy or business, but discount economy now earns 0.25 points per mile or 0.5 points per mile, depending on the fare class. Used to be a flat 1 point per mile. For LAN, this comes into effect on 5 June. For TAM, it's 30 September 2015.

Let's hope this isn't the start of a raft of other "enhancements"...

Looks as though could just be a correction bringing it inline with other partner earning? 1:1 partner earning in disc Y is unusual for any FF programme.

Re: New (enhanced) QFF earning table for LAN and TAM

Does that mean that domestic tickets within those South American countries will now earn? It doesn't have the domestic restriction in the "after" section

Re: New (enhanced) QFF earning table for LAN and TAM

As far as I'm aware most domestic sectors already earn points. I think the * was to do with fare buckets that represent a different category depending on whether the flight was domestic or international.

Re: New (enhanced) QFF earning table for LAN and TAM

Discount economy earns nothing on domestic sectors

Agree that full earning with partners may not be the norm, unlike airlines such as AA, CX, BA which offer their 'loyal customers' an extensive international network, QF has a very limited network.

When the only choice is OW partner or other, Qantas does not care or want to reward our loyalty to OW (accepted it may not be as simple as this as, as the other OW partner may also have an influence).

This doesn't really seem fair to me. It's not like loyal QF flyers have a choice. The only exception is SYD-AKL-SCL - on the rest of the routes, there are no QF flights at all to choose from. And TAM doesn't fly anywhere near Australia.

As noted above, there is already a thread on this. I did look but must have missed it, apologies. I'll continue the discussion there.

The points calc doesn't seem to have been updated yet - I am flying Sale Y fare AKL-SCL with LA flight number in October, and it still says I'm earning 6,014 QFF points (incidentally more that the 5,250 with a QF flight number).
