Hi, I have currently got 139,540 points club points and need to achieve 150,000 points to unlock points club by the 30th of June. I still have points to come from my NAB Qantas Visa card which will credit by the 19th June. I still may fall just short. Does anyone know if I can purchase "top up" points to achieve the 150,000 points?

Yes you can.

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

Given you are approximately 10,000 points short, rather than spend money for the points and get nothing but the points, even if you are not a wine drinker you can gift the wine. Spend cash on the wine and get points PLUS the wine. The points credit usually take 2-3 days from purchase.

For example, 10k points cost almost $400... or you can get at least 9000 points with any of the dozens below thrown in for around $300.

This one has 10k bonus points

And 12k here

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

I would not rush to join points club, the benefits are relatively underwhelming....
You don’t actually “join”. You either get or not depending points earn. If you routinely get close to 150k pts per year, then why not. Those bonus points with a a free case of wine can easily tip you over the line.

Earning SCs on CRs is unique and valuable to many of us. Plus the incidental QF Wine membership, wine and hotel vouchers are useful.

Qantas Points Club not worth the effort in my view. But the easiest way to get the points you need is to buy some gift cards from Woolworths - especially the Mastercard deal which is starts this week:

Thanks Dr Ralph, can I do that with a NAB qantas visa? And if so how much would I need to spend ?

I'd argue that PC has decent value specifically in getting SC for reward flights. Combine that with DSC you actually can get a hefty amount of SC. I think I got nearly 300 SC last year between SYD - MEL in 2 return trips? (J Award giving 18 per sector and I flew through CBR for the same cost. With DSC a single SYD - CBR - MEL leg gave me 72SC for 18k points).

PCP however, that's where its not necessarily that worthwhile.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is nothing easy about buying the Mastercard deal this week. You'll be lucky to find two on the first day if you get there at opening time but I expect that will be it for the week.

As much as you need to get the points you are missing for Points Club membership. These will come instantly via your Woolworths EDR account, assuming you have it set up to earn QFF points directly

Status credits irrelevant to me.

I've scoped out 3 stores already. There is plenty of stock that I can see. The 2 x variable cards per day will limit those who would normally buy 100's of these cards at a time. 2 per day is a much smaller offering than the Coles equivalent cards usually permit. And as there is no precedent for this type of offering form Woolworths it's difficult in my view to say this at this stage: "but there is nothing easy about buying the Mastercard deal this week".

But as for all of these offers, you need to act immediately. I expect that I'll pick up the max of 2 x $500 cards per day for the entire 7 days the offer is open without much effort.

And you could discuss these cards further in the appropriate thread, hence why I referred @MJW Kangaroo to that thread already.

My pc anniversary is 30 June, my normal nab visa qantas card points will credit on the 19th. Of June., I have decided to buy whatever wine I need to top up to the 150 k pc then. Is this idea feasible time wise ?
