Wil do. Thanks a lot!
Updates on my QF Premier. More PITA. I called and put in my detail for updates, then it said they want my rental statement! I said what rental statement? I never said I had rental income! I asked isn't an ATO assessment total taxable income enough? Do they care what the source of income is? Then they said they heard that I was traveling overseas. Where did that come from?! They said I told them on Tuesday so they were waiting for me to advice them when I'll be back.
1. I never told them I was going overseas. All I said was there are lots of EOFY sales and I would really like to have the card for shopping spree
2. Even if I'm going overseas, what's that got to do with my application?
But the agent kept in asking if I was going overseas that they need to know! Well, I am, from 29/6. Now they have to note it down and send to the credit team. W.T.F!!!???
After all that, this morning I received another email asking me for more documents to be uploaded. I have already uploaded 5 payslips, my group certificate from last FY, a copy of my passport and ATO assessment and what else do they want? The biggest PITA!
I have already contacted the customer advisory line. I even filed a formal complaint but no dice. It's time to go AFCA I think.
Sounds like you haven’t contacted Financial Ombudsman in order to get a direct line to someone who will deal with your situation directly. After the hassle I’ve had with Citibank ( they are the ones behind the Qantas Card) nothing you are saying here surprises me at all. What surprises me is that you are doing what you are doing! Give the FOS and get a contact, although even that won’t be plain sailing at least you will be able to speak with the one person and politely remind them that it’s been x weeks since you applied etc etcUpdates on my QF Premier. You meant you actually complained to FOS rather than getting the number from FOS website on Customer Advocacy as someone has suggested above? I thought that was the number to call to get someone interested.
Ok. Will file a complaint with FOS (or AFAC whatever it's called now).
Thanks for the advice.
I rang FOS yes, but they suggested a contact no best suited for my needs ( they prefer for the parties to sort things out before getting involved). I then noticed that the details given to me were available on Fin Ombudsman website . Looking there first may save you a call
Bloody hell! I thought my experience was bad! Ah well , they’ve given you ammunition for your formal complaint . Be keen to hear how it all ends. I would have thought they couldn’t get any worse you proven me wrongYes, that's the number I got from FOS website. First time the person just transferred me to an agent in credit department who gave me the usual excuse of "it's in the final stage, normally takes 3-5 business days, still within time frame....blah blah".
Second time I filed a formal complaint. They said someone will get in touch with me (of course no one contacted me yet).
Then apparently the rumor of me going overseas was from that conversation on Tuesday when I called that FOS number.
Finally after multiple phone calls and it’s approved. This time I simply told them that I’m letting them know that I’m going to AFAC as Citi doesn’t seem to care and doesn’t want the issue resolved internally.
Initially agent still saying that he will chase it up and give me a call back. I said every agent said the same thing but no one ever called. He said give him a chance to resolve it and he’ll call the credit department while I was on the phone. Waited and waited and he finally got back to me saying they are processing my application as we speak (so what were they doing in the last 2.5 weeks?) and will have an answer by the next day. I said fine, if by 9:00 the next day I don’t hear anything, I won’t bother to call to Citi again and will go straight to AFAC.
The same night, ~2hrs later! Bang! Got both email and text message saying my application has been approved. So literally a couple of hours work why did it take them 2.5 weeks?
Now just waiting for card to arrive. In the mean time already received email saying my lounge passes are ready.
Anyway, thank you all for the advice.
Hi, I had a look at the page and couldn’t see a number for Qantas Money. Do you remember what number you called? We are having all sorts of trouble with this and now we have 2 applications sitting on the credit report. Thanks , I ended up with three GPO Box addresses ( didnt have your one either) and then had a brainwave, went onto Financial Ombudsman webpage and looked up contacts for the Qantas Money ACN , called them and lo and behold got someone to take an interest ( & responsibility - amazing when you ask for Employee ID no). Suffice to say today the card arrived in the mail. We are off on Monday ( business class via points )
Sorry no, but all you need to do is ring the Financial Ombudsman, explain the lack of progress from Citibank and ask them for the phone number / contact details of the best person at Citibank to deal with your issue.Hi, I had a look at the page and couldn’t see a number for Qantas Money.
