It's entirely possible the lockdown in Manila might be hitting Citi's back office operations significantly. It's also Citi, so the experience is pretty poor to begin with. It can only get worse than the baseline bad service standard.

Anyone applied for this recently? I have churned a few cards with the big 4 banks recently and they are normally pretty quick to follow up with questions (within a few days). It's been over a week with this one and still no news. Noting that I have read up thread and it seems that communications on this card is fairly dismal.
I'm retired so credit cards are harder to get now but I was approved in late December and the process was not too long. I've had this card before and just went over the 12 months wait but I wanted the 120,000 bonus points and 1:1 earning rate.
I really don't like dealing with Citi as they can be pretty stubborn in some ways. They gave me a very small limit which is half of my previous limit and my income has improved since then! I asked for a higher limit after a month and they denied it and gave me access to 3 credit reporting coys. Only credit issue I have is multiple credit cards over several years but my credit score is quite high but still no increase. I'm paying money in before the due date so I dont overdraw.
On the good side points are tranferred super fast into the Qantas account the same day the email is received for the statement.
Bit like a marriage I suppose - there's the good and the not so good!

I have sent them a message from within Internet banking. I normally get a reply same day or the next day, and the answers are generally on point (may not be perfect, but on point). Some examples:

Sent : Mon,Feb 24,2020 at 10:10 PM
Received back : Tue,Feb 25,2020 at 12:54 PM

Sent : Sun,May 12,2019 at 07:04 PM
Received back : Mon,May 13,2019 at 11:05 AM

This time, I sent a message, timestamped as Wed,Apr 01,2020 at 07:39 AM from within the system, and still heard nothing back. I think Citi is just like most organisations, their customer service simply collapsed.

Is it possibly to cancel this card from the app or website? Struggling to find this option although that could be poor eyesight on my part.

Can't see how to on the App but easy to find on the website under "Manage your Account" on the left side of the page.

Just following up on my earlier post. I decided to do nothing and wait and see if I got issued the credit card. I got an email yesterday from Qantas Money saying my address had been updated and when I checked Qantas Money today, there was confirmation that I have been approved for the Qantas Premium Platinum. It took about 2.5 weeks from application to confirmation.

Yay! There is really no point to chase any organisation at this stage, as any chasing would only make the queue longer.

I got the same email in January and rang to say my address hasn't changed. The guy said the change of address email meant my application had been approved!! 🤔🤔

That is just bizarre! But seems the same for me too.

I have this card (20k points x 6month offer). I am four months into that promo.

In my first month I used it for taxes for a Qantas Oneworld Award booking ($2.5k). I have had to cancel that flight booking and am expecting those taxes to be refunded back to the card soon.

When they do get refunded, will it negate any spending I have done in that month to reach the minimum spend for monthly bonus points? Eg - I spend the $1.5k but then get $2.5k refunded back, does that mean I have to effectively spend $4k total to hit the minimum spend that month?

Or will the refund not factor into it?

Also what are my options of getting that refund off of the card and to a bank account, short of withdrawing the money at an ATM which attracts fees? Probably not much I imagine.

Finally got rid of this card; sign up bonus was nice, extra lounge passes were nice but not much use with a $299 fee coming up next month.

The security interface was kind of annoying; a separate log in just to get to the statement screw that I don't need that hassle in my life.

Huh? You download your PDF statement from within Internet banking?

I haven't had this account for a while but from memory when you are already logged into the portal and then click on the statements there was another verification step. I can't remember if it was just entering a p/w or if it was 2FA via SMS. It just seemed a bit pointless when you were already logged in.

Yes, you enter your same password to see and /or download statements. Very strange when you are already logged in.

You can only view transactions when you log into Internet banking. You need to use the Citibank app on your mobile phone, which also functions as a keygen, to generate a code, you then enter the code into internet banking, before you could do things which Citi consider as sensitive, like fund transfer, download letters statements, etc.

This is pretty much the same as many other banks, like Suncorp Metway or HSBC, where you need to use the keygen app on your phone to generate a key code, before you could transfer money or whatever.

No it is not "same password". You need the keygen function in your Citibank app on your phone, to generate a key, before you could transfer money or download statement.

I'm getting rid of this card too in another week for the exact same reason. They almost jeopardised my home loan application with another bank due to the fact that we couldn't access the statements.
