I called, wont change with out change fees. Pressed the point of paying for the A380 Experience. On hold for 8 min, then informed no seats in my fare class are available to change (LAX-MEL-SYD) and I would still have to pay a change fee. Again, I know that sometime operational issues mean last minutie changes, but this is crazy, considering ozmille has suggested will not even be the same business product.

Don't forget that the 747's are having a re-furb as we speak and will have the MKII skybeds. You might very well snag one of those..

QF94 (LAX-MEL) is being subbed for a 747?
Or do you mean LAX-SYD-MEL?

As noted above, if it has a first class cabin, it won't be a refurb.

I am on QF 12 and wanted to change to QF94 on A380 then onto SYD. Sorry for the confusion. It seems QF94 is still full daily service on the A380 (Lucky Melbourne).

I'm on QF12 Coming back on the 8th August, and it indeed has an F cabin. So must be an old config!

I would be pushing the fact that you have booked the ticket based on the A380 experience

Prior to my first A380 SYD-LAX, it was subbed @ T-48hrs for a B747

Basically rang up and requested consideration to be shifted onto the next day's flight given I booked specifically for the A380 experience. To my surprise, they granted my wish after various mentions of "this is not something we normally do" (I was SG at the time)

This was bad for me as well, changed to the Melbourne service instead. It'll be most annoying for those that were booked in first for those days, lol what will happen for them I wonder.

Good to see Tuesday is still an a380 (for now)

I would be ropeable if I had paid for A380 First and was changed to 747 First without being notified.

Well they have to take them out of service to refit the cabins with all the extra seats at some point so would expect that more of this substition will occur of the rest of the year untill all the upsizing is complete.

I'd say you are right...there is another thread about a new A380 config. I suspect that some of the existing A380's are being taken out to have the refit done around this time as the new ones seem to appear around September. Or did QF take delivery with a new config recently??

Called up this morning and asked to be switched to QF93 - not a problem, re-ticketed today. Didn't really want a MKI.

Qantas called me today and offered to change put me on a flight with the true flat bed, as the QF12 (old A380 flight) flight no longer has it as it was subbed with a non refurbished 747. Now still on 747 but QF108 with the MKII. Seems some friends are on the same flight too now :)

Just like refunds on tickets are not something that Qantas normally does... yet it happens :p

Is QF107/108 is now flying with the newly refurbished 3 Class 747s (i.e. the ones with A380 J seats and no F that services QF 7/8 to DFW)?

I was almost going to book QF107 on an upcoming ACIR22 trip but hadn't realised it would have booked into J. Don't know how I missed that change!

I was contacted today and changed easily to the flight a day before. (which is still an a380 for now).

I had a few requests in with premium desk to change to the day before but they were unsuccessful. I'm happy I'm now confirmed in U class on the a380. My return flight is on a Monday on qf94, hopefully the a380 doesn't get pulled off that route.

How can I certify that my QF11 on the A380 hasn't been changed to a 747? I'm flying on 21/06, and I can no longer see the F seat map anywhere... I rang Qantas, and they guaranteed the flight is confirmed on the A380...

If you click the flight number on your booking, it will come up with the Aircraft Info.
A quick look at the QF site does confirm it is still being operated by a 380.

The confusion continues, I was just advised that my flight on QF11 (A380) has been changed to QF107 (A380), and 107 is A388 rather than a 744.

lolwut, I swear this booking is jinxed, have had it change 3 times already

and QF11 is no longer operating on that day either, wtf! (28th Aug)

Yes, this is becoming extremely frustrating! I have had 3 changes to my Aug oubound QF107 with 5 seat changes, and now QF12 changed from the A380 to the old 747 seating and 2 more seat changes.

On the original booking from JFK to SYD I had to route JFK-DFW-LAX-SYD to get the A380, which now I would rather just do QF108 all the way.

Actually I am comtemplating just cancelling the whole thing and booking with the other mob.

cheers, Al
