Thanks NM, looks like we will be going via HKG then so we can use points.

Still interesting that QF have absolutely no J award seats on the A333 service between SYD & NRT for the next twelve months.

When JL is an official member of OW, I guess there should be additional award availability on their flights.

Yes agree, AFAIK, only their standard business class product, no bed seats such as the QF A333 which is what I was looking for.

I am looking forward to JL joining OW.

Why wont they waitlist? A lot of other FFPs allow waitlisted awards.
You will need to direct that question to QF FF Customer Service Department. My guess is that QF does not need to follow the lead of other FF programs because they feel the are not directly competing against them.

Just a quick one for clarification - does this mean that when I fly to Tokyo later this year in business class that it will not be a skybed - assume I am flying qantas but having re-read our travel policy I am not sure if that is strictly required....

Only the QF A330-300 to NRT has the skybeds. As long as you are going direct from SYD on QF after Oct 1, you have the bed.

JL, AFAIK, still only has standard seats in J.
