Sorry if this is the wrong section but I’ve been told conflicting info.
Does anyone know if I make a reward booking using points, what is the latest time I can change that flight to a later time?

The website suggests that I can change it up till the flight time as per below.

I have 2 interviews in one day which I can’t change one in Melbourne I’ve been told will finish by 1. (Port Melb) I want to book the 2:10 flight to Brisbane. And the 3:10 flight will be will be the backup but then I will be pushing it late for the next one. Anyone see a problem with that time either?
Google suggest 25mins so with online check in, providing it doesn’t run late I should make it just...

  • Up to the commencement of travel for each flight:
  • The following changes are permitted up to the commencement of travel of each flight in your booking*:
      • change of flight number
      • change to date of travel

I think you can change and/or cancel up until the day of travel.

Note there is a change fee in points involved with each change.

Also assuming there are reward seats available at the time on your new preferred flight.

Correct.

If really desperate then book both flights and cancel the one not needed at a cost of the point penalty to cancel.

If Qantas doesn't auto-cancel one of the bookings because they are seen as duplicate. (And they may cancel the 'wrong' one.)

2.10 for a 1PM finish in port melbourne could be cutting in fine if there is a bit of traffic.

After some back and forth and linking Qantas to there own website they changed from saying 24hrs prior to 1 hour prior.
Anyway It became a non-issue as everything ran on time and I made it to the airport with time to spare. Thanks everyone for your input!
