Qantas ruined our rewards booking 2 weeks before flying

I know the issue has been 'fixed' to some degree ...

But I had a similar low level issue, with changing the NAME on a J ticket from Sydney to Brisbane.

I had much the same 'run-around' with Call Centres.

My delay in getting the job done, was because I didn't have anymore QFF Points sitting in my account, to pay the 'change fees'.

When I had 14,000 points transferred into my account, they were 'taken' within a day or so ( 9,000 + 5,000 ).

I wonder if this scenario had any bearing on the original poster's situation ?
Shouldn't have as I still had like, 100K points in my account when I did the original change and by the time this leg of the saga began I had like 45K left.

Out of curiosty ...

How many points did they deduct for 'fees' ??

Still haven’t received my points back yet that are due. Apparently it was supposed to be a 5000 point fee for the cancellation of that flight.

Plus, you'll pay for the use of their 'phone customer service' ... which is 5,000 points.
I got charged 9,000 points for a 'change of name', plus 5,000 points for doing it over the phone.
( it could have been the other way round ? )

phone fees you can regularly get waived if it's stuff you cant do online. theres very little resistance on that one.

Typical of course.

It's like that song says

"Some crews will. Some crews won't.
Some crews need a bit o' prompting, and some crews don't
Well, I know I've got the drink but I don't know why
Some say they will and some crews hide."

😇
Did you mean to put this piece of hilarity into the pre-departure drinks thread, @RichardMEL??
