Hi all,

Just noted Business fares to the US on the QF site for $AUD 7500 return, including taxes!

Enjoy...

This just means that I have to look for (I) class if I want to travel.

I have found (I) class almost impossible to find on QF 93/93 MEL-LAX-MEL.

I think (I) class fares have a 21 day advance purchase requirement too.

Changing the return flight is also a nightmare as it needs (I) class inventory to be available.

I had some friends change an (I) class fare 2 years ago from LHR to SYD and changing the return date doubled the fare for them! [as no (I) class therefore had to book into next class which is (C) I think]

OK, thanks for explaining that to me. My dates are pretty fixed, as it's a work trip, but I'll remember the issue about potential problems changing the dates.

Right now there seems to be plenty of I class availability - at least in March / April. I've been looking at these fares for an upcoming 2 day trip to Washington - flying CBR-LAX I could get the sale fares (~$7500 return) on pretty much every day in late March through to late April.

There's obviously a drop in passenger numbers in the premium cabins at that time - I also requested an award seat in either J or F for the same CBR-LAX leg in April and ended up with multiple options on every day I wanted to fly, both on the 388 and the 744.

I wasn't aware of the limitations on I fares: there were heaps available in May when I'm travelling.
