As QF Mid Year Sale ends tonight, thought I'd check the NZ fare.
SYD-WLG is shown under the Sale banner at $332 one way.
That's a 'sale price' ($664 return) ???

I just noticed the Qantas has a sale on their NZ website for flights to Australia
Australia on Sale Ends 15 Sep 11

Economy
AKL - SYD NZ$189
AKL - BNE NZ$199
AKL - MEL NZ$199
CHC - SYD NZ$189

Business
AKL - SYD NZ$599
AKL - BNE NZ$599
AKL - MEL NZ$599
CHC - SYD NZ$599

The business fares are available 17 Sep 2011 to 31 Mar 2012. So look like a real bargain especially over the holiday period were economy fares can approach that level.

Interesting that Queenstown and Wellington isn't included. So looks like they might be matching a sale from Emirates.

I thought QF had a PVG and HKG sale on at the moment with SYD/MEL-PVG circa $888. The "sale" prices have jumped close to $200 overnight.

Above QF sale fares seem like brilliant value....I have never seen anywhere offering anything sub $2000 to south America?

Anyone had any experiences with fares around this price? Good value?

aggreed !!

How can they offer these prices..

$2600 Prem return.

I cannot get 1 way to LA for that.

How hard is it to hop into the USA from here ?

Pretty expensive to fly from Santiago to USA and why would you want to anyway, that's like saying you're happy to fly to New Zealand via Singapore from the East Coast of Australia. It's around 8,000km to NY from Santiago - around 10.5 hours flight time. LAN is the major carrier and a One World partner if you want to check their prices.I'm all booked for next August - the money I've saved from this super deal will cover my land tour costs!

I wonder with the extra planes and the Aussie $ dropping ?

Cheap fares to Melb - Dallas

Also if you lucky i believe you can score a Business Class seat (old sky bed 1)
if you fly premium economy on this route.

Where is out $1299 to LAX and 3k Premium to LAX :)

Just locked in the Dallas special.

South by South-West festival is on in Austin, Texas during March. Australia also tour the West Indies (cricket) in late March/April. Might head down to the Caribbean to catch some of that, pending locations of Test Matches.

I think the 1299 return deal is pretty good. Direct flight out of Sydney, 15 hours.

The Y+ prices are really good! I did some pricing on flights for next year (for a trip I probably wont do until the year after unfortunately); MEL-JFK return was about $4700 but going via DFW rather than LAX bought it down to $3k. Sure, you do an extra connection in Syd going there and BNE coming back, but for saving almost $2k thats pretty good! If only I could actually travel soon...

Qantas had a global sale end on Monday but the website seems to indicate another sale on now.

BNE - BKK $799 pretty good.

Well done QF, if they keep this up I will renew my QC membership at the end of the year and continue to fly QF.

Also on offer during the QF sale - PER-SIN return $580, including over the F1 weekend in September. I struggled to get the flight for my mum returning at a decent time (who at QF came up with a 4.40am arrival to PER, WTF?!) for the sale fare, but was very pleased to find the QF flights for the same price on ba.com with BA flight numbers with availability for the desired flight.... and the added bonus of no credit card fee. :)

This is almost too good to be true.

BNE-(SYD)-BKK-xSYD-BNE for $799, overnight stopover in SYD, almost guaranteed a bulkhead, much better flight times (get into BKK at 18:50 and depart at 9:00pm), First class lounge in SYD, 20,376 QFF points and 100 SCs.

Brilliant! May book 2 of these and save BMI and US Airways miles for a rainy day....

The CSD/Purser on my last SIN-PER flight was not aware that the 0845 flight was being rescheduled.;) The normal explanation is that with the elimination of the early morning arrival from LHR, there would be little demand for the 0845 flight. I don't think a great deal of thought went into whether people would agree to arrive in PER at 0440 :evil: Hopefully MH will have reasonable prices when they join OW.

My last SIN-PER-SIN ticketing with BA had fare class availability (read less expensive) that the QF SIN website did not. Add in the full mileage credit for almost all BA fare classes to the AA (QF fares less than K class earn 50%) program and I doubt the QF site will see much business from me. Note that the QF SIN site does not charge extra CC fees. Pity the banks do.

Happy wandering

Fred

I assume that you are talking about row 40. I do not have access to row 40 but have been able to book exit row seats.

Is row 40 better in your opinion.
