Just a quick question... I'm looking to book some tickets on the sale fares, however notice that the sale ends tomorrow (for the destination(s) I'm looking at). Does that mean that I can book tomorrow, or that I have to book before tomorrow?

Qantas sale fares almost always end at midnight EST so booking tomorrow (or whatever date is published as the sale end date) will be fine.

VAustralia finally responded the sale, pretty late though. $989 return, but their prices for connections are pretty ordinary compared to the current QF sale.

Re: Qantas sale & a really dumb question

I actually want to book a biz class seat SYD-NYC-SYD for October, but the QF site rates are ridiculous ($16K). Bestflights are offering a price around $7K. Clearly I'm an idiot  and unable to search properly, so would greatly appreciate any/all (kind!) suggestions. I'm SG if that makes any difference? Also, having the read the EF threads, would I be better able to find the information if I subscribed?

Many thanks in advance.

Those ~$7k fares appear to be with UA - not quite in the same league as QF, but on the flip side QF are definitely taking the piss with those fares. Have you considered VA? They're around the $7k mark as well. Though for a J fare, I'd really recommend seeing if you can get a TA to find you a connection on VX in their F cabin for LAX-JFK-LAX, rather than using DL.

Completely agree. Although I've already booked with Qantas, I did put my dates in for CBR-JFK-CBR and Qantas was still cheaper by $100 (plus I got on the A380 plus I get QFF points).

Hi notzac - double checked the bestflights site -definitely $7,419 SYD-NYC rt with QF. I want/need the points so was hoping for a 1world carrier ... just don't understand how a TA can offer a fare at less than half the rate!

Is there availability with Bestflights that match the availability your seeing, bait advertising is not something new to the industry and whilst there may be the odd seat at $7419 but not when you want to travel, it does not prevent them advertising FROM $7419.

Good point ... I'll do some more investigation!

Thanks for the advice.

This appears not to have been posted yet.

Qantas have a one day sale, today only, 'Winter Warmers'. PER-SYD is $199, almost as low as a three or so years ago. Travel in June.
