They were trying to get away with robbery. If COVID credits are refundable then why the hell did they put an expiry on it?
On Thursday, Qantas advised the Senate that the outstanding balance of credits is $570 million, a full $200 million more than the number Joyce had been using.
I still reckon that if people haven’t used those credits by now there is a fair chance they never will so pretty smart move from Qantas (I’m still not much of QF fan regardless).Or to pre-empt (further) legal action.
An interesting snippet from Joe Aston's article in today's AFR:
It's an easy mistake to make. They forgot to count the money in the vault at the Chariman's Lounge in Canberra.I don’t believe for a second that they didn’t know that number when questioned about it
We have tried to use ours on many occasions and the QF world's finest IT systems have not let us book. Get to payments page and often get the message credit number not valid.I still reckon that if people haven’t used those credits by now there is a fair chance they never will so pretty smart move from Qantas (I’m still not much of QF fan regardless).
Well there is that impediment too!We have tried to use ours on many occasions and the QF world's finest IT systems have not let us book. Get to payments page and often get the message credit number not valid.

It wasn't there when I logged in but apparently they have a dedicated team dealing with refunds so it shouldn't affect my callThis banner is up on the QF website:

Yes, this has been reported quite a few times so I think this is Qantas SOP. I guess they're just covering their cough in case someone tries to refund to a different card, then opens a chargeback on the original card.Has anyone else had this experience?
