Qantas Singapore Lounge Catering Quality [Enhanced!]

I understand that won't be an option with the centralised security at T4.

I wouldn't mind going through security on long enough transits, if the lounge is as good as is anticipated... or do you think they'll limit T4 access by BP or something?

It's firming up like this limitation is real, or at least for now. :( There was some discussion about this over at FT, and a Changi representative has confirmed over e-mail for a poster that they will not be able to move freely between T4 and the other 3 terminals. If you want to get into T4, you need to be departing from T4. The transit bus from T2 will not take you across if you are not.

No CX SIN lounge unless you're flying CX out of T4.

Quoting from this thread at FT:

Thanks for the response. To follow up on this I emailed Changi Airport and I was a bit surprised to hear that passengers originating in Singapore and departing from Terminal 4 will not have access to Terminals 1, 2, or 3. In other words, with a boarding pass for T4 you'll only be able to do security and immigration at T4.

The other part of the response I wanted to share is that only transiting passengers departing from T4 are able to use the shuttle bus in T2. The way I read that is if you aren't departing from T4, you won't have access.

That's all a bit sad- I loved the design and food of this lounge when it first opened though it was always extremely busy. I wonder what they will do once the A380 services to LHR go through SIN again? Will not help with overcrowding I'd assume and generally not good enough for F pax particularly. Maybe they somehow manage to add a specific F lounge in addition?

Check the AusBT site. Quoted a QF spokesperson basically saying no changes to lounge services and no new F lounge with the return of F pax. There's enough space to accommodate the increased pax with minor reconfiguration. Apparently.

Wonder what the 'minor reconfiguration' is supposed to be- cramming everyone in? :D

Maybe they'll follow SQ's lead from the KF Gold lounge and remove the toilets and showers? :D

I can only hope that QF does not strike a deal with BA to allow QF F pax access to the BA CCR Bar in SIN.

....must get Griselda to change all future bookings to route via HKG to avoid QF riff raff.

Well actually I think all AFFs should petition Qantas to do just that so that we can add an extra dimension to your amusing TR. And then bribe Griselda to always route through SIN

Was in the SIN lounge 10 days ago and the food on offer today is exactly the same.

Kenyan coriander lamb curry, cauliflower. rice and penne pasta.

Even all dining is identical.

Not complaining as the quality of the food is good but no variety.

It used to be Pork Bao! It has changed (maybe not in last 10 days, but definitely within the last few months, as Pork has been replaced by beef!

It is interesting how the "made to order" options have evolved from genuine made to order items, to being "plated to order" items. Necessary to deal with cost and option, but both these items could be easily included in a buffet with minimal, or no, deterioration in quality.
