Hey everyone,

I delayed a recent trip a couple of days so that it would take place in my new membership year (ends 31 May, I traveled 01 June), and the Status Credits would go towards retaining Gold for another year… Before boarding my flights, my QFF app showed that my balance had reset to zero, ready for the new year. Unfortunately it looks like the Status Credits were added and then voided as if they had occurred in the previous year. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Not sure if I’ve been caught out by some technicality here, but it seems a bit misleading that the app would show a balance of zero, ready to start earning again, only to be re-wiped.

I’ve already sent an inquiry to QFF, but don’t exactly expect a prompt answer. Is there anything else I can do here, or am I just out of luck?image0(6).jpeg

So, your flight departed in 31 May 2022, which means that it was in your previous membership year. As a result, Qantas has removed them from your current membership year.

It is the way the system works. Status Credits are applied to the membership year in which the flight took place.

I understand the concept, but it was 31 May in the US, 1 June in Aus, hence the app resetting to zero before I flew. Seems to be a misleading application of the membership year if they're applying the local date.

Sorry you were being too smart here. Flight credits are ALWAYS based on departure date/time of the flight taken, not the time in Oz.

So what has happened is correct.

Consider the other way around that you needed the flight on 31 May to get the SC to retain or up status level and the system said oh no it's 1st of june, so does not apply. It works both ways. In this case the departure was on 31 May, and that's how it was credited.
