 One wonders whether Qantas Frequent Flyer have a profiling system where some sort of exception reporting highlights changes in earning/redemption ratios or some similar 'KERI' (Key Earning/Redemption Indicator).
If they did, then my account would be highlighted with flashing lights and sirens at the moment! Went from 3 x Platinum qualification in a 4 month period to zero SCs earned in the last 18 months. But still spending points on upgrades. I guess my account activity could be similar to someone laundering from a deceased person's account.

Got to get maximum value from the Lifetime Gold status  . Perhaps I can bequeath my FF card to my son who has the same initial as me  . I wonder if they will identify an account anomaly when my Lifetime Gold FF account is still active in another 70 years time?

Or encourage him to change his name by Deed Poll. Who knows your Lifetime Gold status could run in the family for many generations to come.;)
Who wants to live forever? I do if I had Lifetime Gold:!:

You're assuming QFF lifetime gold actually means anything in 70 years time.

QF Lifetime Gold may not mean anything in 70 days time if they sell off the FF program.

Why would you think that? Whether or not QFF is owned by QF or someone else, loyal customers are valuable and will want to be retained by the program.

it is just Qantas being tightar5e5 (just wait until they are owned by banks).

Not bad only two anti sell off posts in a thread on Qantas showing compassion (forced maybe due to adverse advertising) and going out its way to give a benefit to someone who isnt entitled...

We pay for our points

Credit Cards with rewards points charge far higher interest and annual fees than do cards without the rewards.

And generally you can fly cheaper on airlines other than qantas but we pay more to accumulate points.

So (and some may regard this as tasteless but I say tongue in cheek) would it be positive cash flow if a ****** full of wps with wads of points went *** .

What makes you think I'm anti-sell-off? If Qantas screws down harder on FF entitlements I'll be very happy indeed. My point was just that Qantas could easily follow the lead of AirNZ or Virgin Blue to make every seat available for purchase by points but has chosen not to. No doubt this keeps the beancounters and bankers happy, but longer term only customer happiness counts.
