Qantas Sydney Domestic Business Lounge Panini Bar

Was this pre-made? I almost always (anywhere, not just lounges) ask for a fresh made sandwich or other item with particular ingredients included or excluded. Generally get much better filled items if the staff are making on the spot and for me.
It was a pre-made one. I agree I love getting sandwiches made in front of me too. I just wondered whether it was a cost cutting measure to barely put any filling in - so they advertise they do these wonderful sounding paninis on the menu but when you get one there isn't much too it other than bread. Or perhaps I got a dud one in the batch. Or people are actually quite happy with not much filling and so Qantas is hitting the spot.

Just super curious what others think as this panini bar was supposed to help lift the food offerings in this lounge yet if they offer sad sandwiches then it isn't much of an enhanced experience.

I wouldn't rave about the Pani is, but think they are a nice addition to a lounge that lacks so much. Have had a few tasty ones and some ok but not terrible ones. Yes all seemingly premade - probably on the day, and shoved in the toaster. It sure beats the Brown Slop Du Jour(tm) imo

am i the only one who consistently will ask for a double serve of protien/dumpling/etc at the spice bar?
Haven't had Spice Bar for a while, but last time I asked for a laksa, I accepted that it was going to be broth and noodles, which really is the soul of the dish (just like the soul of a pizza is the dough, not the toppings). And it was flavourful (even if doubtfully made in house).

But by measures the protein is rather thin. Kind of reminds me of those mall Asian takeaways that have lunch plate specials dishing up lots of noodles but little meat (i.e. the stuff that costs real dosh), or curries with lots of potato. Also, what's with cutting up the noodles into short strands. Maybe more practical to eat in a way (especially if you're sporting business garb), but like breaking up spaghetti in Italy, that's a capital offence.

Sometimes I bulk out what the Spice Bar hands out with items from the buffet, including pickles or sandwich ingredients (e.g. chopped / shredded chicken, grated carrot, etc.)
