Hello Everyone ,

It might have been discussed here before , if so please excuse me.

What do you all think about a Digital Publication of the Qantas - InFlight Magazine , sent to your e-mail when every new issue is out.

1) It will be an enormous boost to the readership ( 7.5 Mil QFF Members alone ) who may or may not fly every-month. ( i.e. way more readership than bum's on seats every month ) + people who subscribe online on Qantas website.

2) Good way to generate + add to the advertisement revenue out of the InFlight Mag.

3) More readership = Better Publication = Better Content = More readership.

4) IMHO , I personally would love to get a digital copy of it every month.

5) An option of printed hard copy to be delivered to your mailbox ( It is not Eco friendly ) but if recycled paper is used and postage + carbon offset is charged to the ones who want a hard copy - The whole exercise can be made greener.

PS - Attn:- RedRoo -- Just an idea , would love to see it become a reality.(Please give me credit and comp me LTG for the contribution LOL )

Sounds like a great idea to me, though I do like looking forward to the first flight of each month so I can spend a good hour or two reading through it. Having a digital copy arrive every month would somewhat ruin that.

Good idea though. :) It's by far the best airline mag I've ever read.

Cheers,
- Febs.

The current month's magazine is available, in full, on the Qantas website. So you can access it digitally if you want. I can't see any reason why QF could not include a link to it in the monthly email.

Well exactly my point being , it is very easy to go online and access it but it sure does take some effort ( being lazy ) , but to access the past editions of the mag. - well it would sure be a task to look for them on the QF website.

If the mag was sent as a PDF every month that would be great. Can access past editions ( saved in email ) and also QF can have a total database and list of readership ie better revenue generation data.

I'd like a digital copy.

Downloads are OK but from memory they are in parts vs the whole thing in one PFD (which is what I would prefer).

Out of interest, how many people would take the time to sit through and read a PDF on their computer? Part of the attraction of QTAW is that you're a captive audience - on a plane, with not much else to do unless you brought your own entertainment.

I would actually prefer a hard copy,I realise that it's not environmentally friendly but I really like the magazine and if I don't fly for a month or two then I may miss out on some good articles,I know that I can read it online but it's just not the same, somehow I like the experience of sitting down with a nice glass of wine and reading the magazine,I just don't get the same feeling reading online.
Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way but I would even be prepared to pay a subscription to get it delivered each month.
Cheers

I also look forward to reading the magazine on the flight, there is some really good stuff in there, much better than Virgin Blue Voyeur in my opinion.

I would also probably pay to have it delivered hard-copy, especially if there were bonus QFF points associated with the subsription!

I agree and same... Though I travel pretty much every week so don't need to!

I also love Alan K's Talking Business program (Audio on Q and sometimes they screen his ABC tv show on Q too). I'd love to see him write for the Australian Way monthly....

I won't vote as none of the four options refer to me. (I read it first flight of every month, not every flight)

FWIW, I have a collection of "The Australian Way" going back over 16 years [~180 inidvidual editions].

Also, the defunct, "Qantas Club Magazine" for the last 5 years or so of it's life (late 1994-)

Could be worth a bit of money if the July 2001 issue currently on sale on ebay is an example-$7.37 + $4.92 postage.:!:

I don't know about reading it every flight, but I certainlly read everyone I get. That said I usually read it whilst sitting on the ground in CBR.

I'm with you on this... I was disappointed when they dropped (? resigned) Peter Switzer for Ita Butrose, but I do like Alan. I watch him on inside business of a Sunday on ABC1.

I did not think the Qantas inflight magazine was that popular.

I fllick through it occasionally if I am really bored and sometimes I do the Sudoku puzzles.
