Qantas to Beijing. Are they kidding??

I just flew back in Y and it was fine. However this was probably only due to it being a quiet flight. If the person in front reclined you were in trouble. Those seats are chunky. It was better than Hainan but certainly a poor difference compared to the usual QF product.

I wonder whether QF will look to move with MU to the new Beijing South airport.

It's notionally a Star Alliance hub with both MU and CZ moving Beijing operations there, but I'd think it makes sense for QF to move as well given there isn't any Chinese oneworld partner

Maybe I am blind, but didn't read anything about the new airport being Star Alliance - but did read about it being Sky Team - and as such is why MU & CZ will move to the new one as Sky Team members.

Any airline, inc QF - would be silly to move 100% of their capacity to the new airport by the sounds of it.

Like PVG & SHA, SHA is primarily domestic, and PVG is primarily international - and would expect the new Beijing South airport to be primarily domestic, with PEK moving to have a higher percentage of international.
