Possibly, didn’t have it on todays ZQN-SYD, but also didn’t have it on a SYD-LAX about a month ago.

QF1 yesterday had group boarding for the SYD-SIN leg. They called for passengers in F first before Group 1. Didn’t want to hang around to observe group boarding on an A380 but there was a bit of crowding around the gate area before group 1 was called.
Quite a few people in group 1, and at least one person attempted to board earlier than their assigned group and failed (probably not intentionally?).

QF group boarding is about 10, possibly 15, years too late, but it's literally the best change made to the entire company in this time.
Sure, they've opened a couple of non-Aus F lounges in this time, but nothing beats the effect this has on the customer experience.

QF 803 today. I counted ten people who were obviously illiterate or needed an audiologist and were made to do the walk of shame. I needed a laugh for the day and that sure did it.

I think some people just don't care. They are of the thinking "what is this stupid rule of you have to board before me", or "we're all getting on the same plane eventually", or "what's the big deal". Some of them think if they make enough trouble (without getting physical or audibly belligerent), they will be boarded regardless because the time they waste will be expensive to the airline, whose agents may concede to get the aircraft going.

Of the ~200 people a few percent are going to be of the entitled type and unfortunately travel seems to bring that trait out in the best of people.

My favourite thing about this system imo is that it's actually enforced, if not for anything but to allow priority boarding actually remain priority.

Depending on the gate in CNS, scanning your BP signals the start of a half-marathon required to reach the aircraft by following the lines painted on the concrete.

A young, athletic person in Group 3 could probably get the the aircraft with the stragglers of Group 1.

I thought group boarding was fully rolled out domestically, but no group number on boarding pass from DRW.

It was any understanding that group boarding at least domestically is only available at Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

Wonder why not not at ADL, DRW, OOL and HBA ? If 737 and larger planes fly the domestic routes group boarding should be in play and for all international. Taking far too long.

Whenever I've witnessed people trying to board to early, they don't seem to do 'the walk'. They all just stand to the side of the queue in a group.

I am flying in Europe in May/June. There is definitely Group Boarding. Last time I was there a staff member went down the lines checking you were in the correct group.
