Even as WP its all but impossible to get availability on the phone, and certainly nothing online.

Worst still is that the multi city booker clears all of your inputs every time it refreshes... which is every time on a 500 server error.

Yep this is the most annoying thing. Happy to keep trying but to input the info all over again. Grrrr.

Got to the final page on the multicity booking for SYD-SFO, Y to SFO and J back to SYD but its a matter of telling others for a conference/holiday.

I noticed this as well. Lots of available in J and F and then vanished, including for call center team I was speaking with

I managed to nab some CX J earlier today - I was surprised to see Christmas availability.

I managed to talk with an agent, who seemed to know her way around, but there is no availability for my desired travel. I'm looking for seats to Haneda in January but she said there is none available within coo-ee of my dates, and when I asked to put in a request she said every day in me travel window is flagged as not available for a request because of the high fare prices at that time. So yay Qantas.

Data point: I just got through on the phone after a 25 minute hold - not too bad considering website meltdown - to try to add a leg to a OWA. It was my second change for the day. Sadly because change #1 is unticketed (of course) the agent said they couldn't make additional changes. Bugger. Right now I kind of hope the website keeps glitching out so that no one can nab the F seat I have my eyes on. Lol.

Nothing surprising there I'm afraid. It's peak ski travel time and school holidays so historically impossible to get classic awards.

Hi. I’m currently on hold…. Had some pe flights booked on cathay thru qantas and saw availability for bus this am. the e ticket came thru pretty quickly. Showing flight as confirmed. duly cancelled the pe flights as had business firmly in grasp
then the booking disappeared from my account and the flight now showing waitlisted ?
hoping I’m not stuck without my first leg …. Anyone have any insights ?

Agreed... new to the game but will be switching from the Bus. Qantas Amex to the Platinum to diversify reward flight risk. Annoying.

Well, after over an hour of trying and literally about 100 attempts wrestling with the website (at one point failing after the Qantas website was not able to verify my Qantas Mastercard), which resulted a cornucopia of different errors (as documented here) I finally managed to get a Sydney-London return business award flight in October. Cost 289,200 points plus $1,308.92 in cash. Not on the dates I ideally wanted and not on the flights I ideally wanted, but beggars yada yada.

As a result of this booking, plus other award flights booked in the last six months, my points balance went from a very healthy ~600,000 to negative ~50,000 (I had to borrow some points from a family member for this one). Feels weird seeing the points balance so low, after having it in the mid-hundreds of thousands for so long. But I suppose it'll make the Qantas accountants happy, seeing some of their liabilities wiped off the balance sheet.

I’ve got three “failed” bookings with PNRs. All showing in my QF account… on hold now to see if they can ticket them. Are we guessing it took the seat from inventory to produce the booking?

SYD+1 managed to score 2x J SYD-SIN return in November (ticketed). I'm having a cough awful time (like most) getting anywhere on some other sectors we've been trying to get....

Didn't even try for LAX earlier, since we already have 2x trips there this year in the system! Good luck those who managed to score them before 11am. The June/July/August period still seems to be blocked - even in whY or are others getting glimmers of hope?

I have also had many 500 errors. Now I can't even login Grrr. I have over a million points and $1000 flight credit. Recently flew a paid flight with United to San Francisco and on to Aspen in PE - the ground and air service were impeccable - Now switching to their points system even though I'm lifetime gold with Qantas.

I think their CIO is a liability, based on how cough their website is under load. That is what the press should be reporting. AJ probably puts his fingers in his ears and sings la-la-la every time his CIO tells him he needs to spend $50m on their online systems - AJ wants deniability in the top job and wants to line his pockets for the ultimate net profit numbers feed his remuneration...

I have the same problem. Not much point in advertising the promotion so intensely if the system cannot handle it.

Agree with the winter period - looks like its still a black out period (at least for Europe), nothing on QF
