Qantas unveils three new routes from the nation's capital

It's nice to see there's now an option to fly DRW-CBR at a reasonable time, and currently on sale for $250. Certainly beats the redeye flights via SYD/MEL/BNE on a 737!

Designed for people not paying for their own tickets ex CBR but entitled to fly J. And only about 10% more than a comparable flight to PER.

Cheers skip

What’s with the ludicrous J pricing though? Over $5000 return?!

Yeah, so far they’re only selling full “J” class fares and have released no award seats. I would expect prices to come down once they start selling C, D and I fare classes.

Orange route has proven to be popular.

Orange flights increased as QantasLink reacts to strong demand

I flew SYD-OAG on Tuesday (out in the morning, back in the afternoon). There were 13 pax on my SYD-OAG flight in the morning, with 14 pax returning to SYD on the same plane. In the afternoon, 20 pax flew SYD-OAG and 28 were on the return. Many were connecting beyond SYD.

QFLink can turn a profit apparently on as low as 15~20% on the turboprop fleet apparently.

I was looking at CBR DRW direct flights, it says it s opperated by alliance airline, and It doesnt display any sc or points earn. Is it something to be concerned about?

That's a normal thing for new routes which haven't yet been added to QF's calculator. Should earn the same as SYD-DRW.

The J pricing for DRW-CBR has now come down to $1,400 one-way and they have started to release business reward seats.

Now if they'd just do this on the new/updated ADL ASP flights on the E190, I'd be a happy camper!

Any 'real' photos of the new QFLink E190 yet?

The answer to your question is...

This bird has been on the ground for 3 days in Adelaide. Given first E190 flight to Alice Springs is first thing tomorrow this will no doubt be the plane.

Pic found here

Edit.

So I should’ve kept scrolling. There seems to be three birds here. Two in standard Alliance livery.

And then this one:

Hahah doesn’t count until it’s in the QFLink Livery

I forget where, but I did read the wet lease will see the crew in QF uniform but not the plane.

That was the original plan but QF clarified that they will be painted out in QFLink colours.

-----

Qantas will be basing five Embraer E190s at Adelaide Airport as a way to boost domestic flights. The move is part of a three-year deal with Alliance Airlines and responds to increasing leisure and business travel demand. This will see the jets painted in QantasLink livery.

Still no sign of the QF colours.

FR24 shows VH-UYW as not operating since arriving in ADL on May 21.

VH-UYO (QQ livery) operated QF1958/1955 DRW-ASP-ADL, whilst
VH-UYZ operated QF1954, the inaugural ADL-ASP this morning.

VH-UYB (RAAF Centenary livery as above) is just leaving ADL for DRW as QF1950, approx 1 hour late.

Edit: VH-UYW now operating today’s QF1956 ADL-ASP.

I wonder who is doing the paint job...

There's also a standard livery bird in Darwin as of yesterday - no doubt taking flight today down to ASP and onto ADL.

Assuming they end up in white and red, you'd imagine these first jets will be used until more join the fleet. CASA search only 6 rego'd so far of which 3 in standard livery and then the Anniversary paint job.

(Clearly I was procrastinating earlier today)
