They sent an sms to my partners number instead of mine though (I had my QR details in there, just dropped to ruby last month 😢)
Reward economy -> reward business.
Would have booked business if it was available as we were coming back from surgery, but pleased with the result nonetheless

Presumably you submitted the request from your partners account as the upgrade would fail with your QR number?
 
J seat—with a refund of 75% of the fare (points & cash component) plus a $400 travel credit as compensation—or moving back to Y. Took me about a milisecond to choose to stick with J.
Good offer and well done pro actively by staff.

I’m not entirely confident that the promised compensation will come through but if it does that will be a fantastic result…
We were downgraded on a QF marketed flight on Bangkok Airways due to aircraft change and given $700+ refund and $400 travel credit (3 years to use).
Took an email to follow up but received a phone call and reimbursement within days.

Booked with my Qantas account and points, just inserted my QR number into the ff field
My partner is red doesn’t even have any points or know how to use anything, just follows along
Apparently the rejection text (for the outgoing flight) went to him also.

Surprised the upgrade worked ! Would have expected the QFF number needs to be on the booking, but I guess it processed like a family upgrade request.
