This I actually disagree with. Cathay's entertainment system is generally better, but Qantas IFE is pretty good, especially when it comes to including whole seasons of shows and not just 3 random episodes.

I disagree with this. It’s one thing I can’t really knock QF for. Usually pretty decent content

Despite my dislike of CX in general, I will still agree on your point that their IFE is much more superior than Qantas

even English content- CX is better than QF and hopefully QF can improve more on that... QF is still my preferred airline anytime through

They have a much bigger english library. I think they also started partnering with Disney+ now so some of those shows are starting to show up now.

That's before we get to the asian content i found plenty to watch on my 4 CX flights last month and struggled on QF (none of the new releases interested me or I'd already seen it in cinema).

This is an interesting point to make. I haven't done QF for internationl for long time, so I could not comment on this. I mostly fly SQ when I need to get out of Australia, and I would always scroll thru their movie selection to find something interesting, and it is extremely unlikely that I would end up watching 'western' productions. The last few were about a North Korean spy, children growing up in Singapore (English but not western you know what I mean), Indian movies, Hong Kong movie about a Pakistani boy who was a refugee and living in the shadow economy (a topic which is not generally touched on in north and north east Asia).

Maybe Qantas would not pick these sorts of movies?

QF IFE is not bad. I would say 3 stars. I flew QF SYD-HKG at Boxing Day last year.

CX IFE is great. 4.5 stars. I flew CX SYD-HKG in early December last year.

So everyone’s opinion is right on IFE. There are stuff to watch for both airlines, but CX is better than QF in IFE.

Id give it probably a 3.5-4 depending on any given month. There are movies out there that on release i look at and think that's a plane movie, I'm not paying to see it in cinemas. QF would usually have those around too.

CX i'd also r5wte 4.5. It just feels like they have you covered on almost every angle. Especially if you're more into asian content and i find it amusing they often have better Japanese stuff than JAL does.
