Is it just me or has Qantas' website been down all day? I need to change a booking and am even considering picking up the phone!

Been working for me (although I haven't tried to manage a booking, but the rest has been ok)

Does the problem involve getting to the last page (where you put in CC details), it looks likes its processing, then it comes up with an error?

No. The problem involves typing Qantas' URL into an IE browser window and getting absolutely nothing. Just a progress bar going on and on forever with white space on the page.

I have been online all day and going to many other websites with no problem.

I have noticed there are periods when the flights searches or displaying individual bookings have not worked since yesterday morning.

Skoogle,

Have you tried deleting your shortcut and cookie for the Qantas web site and setting them up again :?:

Previously I've found it works for some sites.

I have noticed the Qantas website to be very unstable but getting worse the last few weeks. Is Qantas doing some development to their website? This has been happening both on the work computer and my laptop so I am guessing it is not related to cookies.

Some of the issues are the aircraft details do not appear when clicking on flight number in my bookings, constantly getting connectivity issues when looking at award availability, when viewing a booking I need to backspace 3 times, or use the back tab on IE, 3 times to return to the list of bookings etc. Anyone else having these issues?

This particular one you are stuck with for now I'm afraid; it's not a bug - it's the effect of an enhancement!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You mean it was intentional? What could it possibly achieve, other than frustration, to make someone press the backspace 3 times to return to the previous screen? To put is simply if an enhancement produces an undesirable effect then this is a bug as far as I am concerned....

By clicking the "Go Back one Page" you go to a web page that auto forwards you again to the page which shows your booking.

This is a sample URL that does the auto forward:

http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/do/dyn/checkmytrip?bookingRef=xx_xx_&surname=xx_xx_%20&ffnum=9999999&pageFrom=/regions/do/dyn/yourBooking (A copy of the source for this is below.)

and here's the one that shows your booking data:

https://book.qantas.com.au/pl/QFServicing/wds/RetrievePNRServlet

I believe this may be a security measure.

So clicking back 'once' simply brings you back to show your booking again; clicking twice will bring you to the 'Your Bookings' page as long as the auto forward process from the fist back page has not commenced. Clicking three times quickly may even take you to whatever page you had before the "Your Bookings" page.

 To get around this, I simply click the drop box beside the back button and select "Frequent Flyer - Your Account - Your Bookings" ...

While not as bad a job as Qantas has done previously with passing some data via URL, I still believe that passing the booking reference, surname and FF number is a security issue.

Had noticed that recently, but never got around to emailing Qantas about it. Information like that should not be passed via a URL but sent encoded within the data itself.
