Anyone else having problems selecting their seats and receiving a "Generic Error" message? Been trying all day since booking an Anyseat Award, and continually getting the message that "The method of delivery previously selected is no longer eligible for this trip."

I can view my booking, use the "Select Seats" option, go through the entire process, but when I choose "Next" after my final seat selection, it just gives a generic 1018 error message.

Or is this just a new way of doing things for bookings awaiting verification of CC? (If this is the case - very poor customer service QF, very poor.)

I had that with one flight on a booking of 6 flights. I called and they allocated them for me.

I just spoke with them also, and it took a while to explain and have QF understand what I was talking about (actually didn't sound all that interested in the problem). I guess my beef is, it is offered as an option, is not accessible and I have to pay for an OS call to rectify.

I'm happy it was sorted but the ho-hum response/perceived lack of interest that came across whilst on the phone, was something I haven't experienced before when calling QF, and I felt like my request was an imposition.

I know first-world problem, but a little more interest and not sounding bored on the phone isn't asking too much, is it? :)

At any given point in time there are quite a few of my flights that I am not able to select a seat after going through the seat selection process. Some glitch in the system.

If I can be bothered then I will call QF and get a seat allocated manually.

I thought is was odd, as never had this problem with BKK-SYD_ADL previously. The QF CSO didn't seem the least bit interested in reporting the problem, even though I gave him the error code.

Tried all weekend to get 24B (became available early Saturday morning) but always rejected with same error message; as it was only for the SYD-ADL leg, I'm not too bothered, but was annoying that I couldn't do online in the first instance.

Lets see if I can book my selected return seats at a later date! :)

Slightly OT; I am able to select seats online for an upcoming int'l trip with QF for every flight except one operated by BA. The website just says that the flight is unavailable for seat selection. If I call QF will they be able to allocate me a seat?

You will need to do that with BA, not QF
