Now that there is a double status credits offer, I have been trying to book several trips from Helsinki to Sydney return for the next year. Each time after selecting your flights and getting to the page where you pay it comes up with the "Sorry an error seems to have occurred, and this page cannot be displayed" screen. The PNR is generated, and you can see the bookings on both the Qantas and Finnair websites. However after about an hour the bookings vanish, and I can see on expertflyer the seats I have chosen have been released.
I've logged the issue with the website tech.
Anyone else seeing the same issue?
Come on Qantas, I want to spend $12k with you but you won't take my money!

I had this on one booking I made yesterday and tried to call, but the wait was very long (as you can imagine). About 2 hours later I received an email saying the flights would be held until midnight. When I clicked on Manage under the booking there was a link to pay. The payment went through this time and the tickets were issued shortly thereafter.

I don't know if the midnight deadline has something to do with your disappearing booking? Have you tried to book through another site? AFAIK you can do this as long as you have registered for the DSC offer on Qantas. You can then book a QF qualifying flight with a QF flight number via an online travel agent such as Amex Travel, Expedia etc. See the relevant extract from the T&Cs below:

Flights can be booked via the Qantas website, a travel agent or Qantas Contact Centres. Fees and charges may apply. Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded at the time of registration and booking to earn Status Credits.

Of course, I'm no expert and others may be able to confirm. Good luck!

Thanks for the response! I haven't got any emails, and have given up waiting on the phone. It's rather expensive waiting when calling from abroad. Where is this link to pay? I can't see anything on the screen, was it in the email you received?

Also I should have mentioned I am trying to book fully flexible tickets (H). The travel agent websites only allow you to book the cheapest fare.

There was a link in the email that took me to the website but it hung. I then went to the My Bookings section and clicked on the Manage link under the relevant PNR. This basically took me back to the payment page so I could process everything again.

For me the bookings have all just now disappeared. Before when I clicked the My Bookings link I could see all the booking details, but there was no link where you could pay. It looked as if the ticket had been paid for.

Ever since the double status has come out I am getting access denied to QF website sporadically. I click on search, go to select flights, and get this error, or just doing a search. I have tried both Optus and Vodafone networks so i know its not a Optus NBN issue. Also i got this same error when searching for flights on United today. Wonder if there is a issue with the back end booking system. Bit hard to book flights when you can't even search.

I get the access denied message often too. It seems to clear after some time. Really annoying when you have entered all the information and then have to start again.

The site was a disaster area yesterday. I booked several domestic flights and it took ages because of the multiple error messages. Guessing it was not coping with the load of people taking up this offer.

I’m glad someone else is suffering from this issue as it’s been happening to me since at least last December and I’m struggling to find someone at qantas who cares about this. Actually that is unfair I can find any number of people who care and who can help me complete a booking but no one who can do anything about the fundamental problem.

It goes like this - if I am logged in I can’t complete a booking on qantas.com. I get a ‘generic error‘ whenever I click through to the payment screen. Logged out no problem at all, which wouldn’t be a problem most times. Except that I have business rewards for my consulting practice and some of my clients let me book Flexi tickets and I have to be logged in to get the business rewards discount.

It doesn’t seem to matter what browee I use, mobile, desktop or through the app, incognito mode, cadges cleared, whatever. It always fails if I am logged in.

What is even more vexing is that some clients book tickets for me under their business Rewards accounts and they face the same problem - if my QFF number is on the booking they can’t complete it a, if they add it after the booking it is fine.

I also get some weird stuff like the qantas site or element a of the site not loading properly.

I’ve wasted so much time on this already, I’d be more than happy to work through this with qantas IT if there were a way to get through to them.

Yep this one just hit me as well - wouldn’t accept the valid credit card that has always worked and then crashed so the booking completed without payment... now to see if i can get it payed with the help line or try booking again after it cycles out of the system :-/

I had this issue on a multi city flight. For some reason HNL-SYD was showing D/I availability, the connecting SYD-BNE was showing D/I availability but HNL-SYD-BNE showed D0 I0 (confirmed on expert flyer). So the Qantas website was showing the trip as available but would crash out at the payment screen because it couldn't get the fare.

I only found this out through web chat - because he said SYD-BNE was completely sold out until exactly 24 hours after my HNL flight. So just booked it for that - he couldn't fix it. The other alternative was to book HNL-SYD-BNE in C class but that raised the fare by $700.

This time I actually got to the payment screen, after 3 days of trying, but it crashed after entering the payment.

Now I can't get to qantas.com at all.

yes continually crashing for me throughout today. I was able to book some tickets at 11pm last night.. but then after booking it happened again doing another search. This is just going to put people off.
Wish Qantas would extend the booking period for the already registered users as i am sure there are a lot of us who won't be able to make their booking, or perhaps its their ploy to get people suckered into wanting to book, make it so difficult but you come back in a few days time, and it may just happen to be after the booking period so you don't get double status. *shrug*

I also had this issue for one of my DSC bookings but was able to resolve it via the call centre and paying over the phone. Got through immediately, but granted it was around 1am. The operator confirmed there would be no phone booking fee.

I'm still having trouble with the site.... Clearly this offer is getting Qantas a lot of business... if anyone's able to complete a booking that is.
