Qantas wont let me change flight - but fare codes showing as available?

Interesting that you are able to change and by the sounds of it for very little charge.

As far as I am aware, I have done many of these in the past couple of years, on the cheaper airfares it is not fare class that determines how much you will pay but rather the actual airfare paid not including taxes. So if your O class airfare was $500 and the new O class airfare is $1000 then you will need to pay a difference of $500 even though in the same booking class.

And then some agents handle the change differently to others.

I hate the inconsistency....
