Anyone flown Y from Tokyo back to Oz lately on QANTAS?

I did so in 2008 it was too long ago for me to remember.

Are mask rules still enforced? Do you get both dinner and breakfast and are there any lounge options for Tokyo (with priority pass or for a fee)?

Many thanks

Masks rules are no longer enforced for flights to and from Japan as of March 13. However JAL still recommends it and a friend on a recent JAL flight said most Japanese travellers were still wearing them, and Australians were not. Funny how COVID apparently works by nationality.

For the lounge option question, I assume you don't have any Qantas/Oneworld status?

I think the ANA Lounge Haneda no longer participates in Priority Pass. I know the JAL Sakura Lounge has paid entry, but I think only if you're on a JL ticket.

I believe you should be able to get paid entry into the airport-owned TIAT lounge.

I can recall as far back as the mid 90s it was common to see Japanese people wearing a face mask going about their daily routines - particularly in banks...

Do you get both dinner and breakfast
Supper
Plant based dining - fusilli pasta with spinach, tomato and mushroom sauce
or
Grilled chicken with plum sauce, sweet potato kanroni, carrot and steamed rice with black sesame
or
Braised pork with mustard sauce, mashed potato and broccoli Bread roll with margarine

Chocolate brownie

Breakfast
Blueberry Danish

Cheese and mushroom omelette with hash browns, spinach and grilled tomato
or
Teriyaki chicken with sweet potato kanroni , tofu, shiitake mushroom, teriyaki sauce and steamed rice with pickle

That's pretty good. Two full meals, and Japanese options on both, even in economy. I know in the past you only got like a few slices of fruit and a small muffin for breakfast.

Can't speak for JAL, but that's a much superior offering to ANA's catering on the SYD - HND route - is this a QF soft product win?
