Did you get it approved?

No, it didn't pass, or rather it said something didn't pass but doesn't tell me what, but I can guess. Silly as you can see I'm clearly in the F lounge! Maybe I'll just send a photo of me eating a toasted sandwich in the Virgin lounge instead. Idiots!

Second image also didn't approve. Probably on account of the ski goggles but the view was tremendous.

Third image finally approved, but in a rail museum! Hah!



Sound track interesting.
Hopefully the ad is better than Etihad's rubbish attempt.

The ad was released today:

Must say, very very underwhelming. The music, i'm assuming, is meant to be stirring and rousing. I don't think it really succeeds at doing that (at least not in the ad that has been published).

Not one shot of an aircraft (and if they were aiming for 'we're flying above you and filming you' it's all too close to the people to be realistic). It could almost be an ad for an insurance company if you didn't see the QF logo at the end. And the music seems to me just to be a very generic 'ad' song.

I dunno, perhaps i'm just jaded ;)

At the end when they are panning out, and you everyones faces then the QF logo appears, I was expecting it to keep zooming out to see a map of Australia. Nope. Seems like all references to "Australian" are being removed...

I expected it to jump back to planes flying after doing all the zooming down from the pilots coughpit....
Like the old 80/90s airline ads.

Still dont mind it, the music is modern, yet has that haunting element.

So anyone seen their photo in the mosiac?

There is one example of the ad up with 'Sian Davies' in a bikini lol on the qantasyou.com site

Pretty critical write up of the new commercial on Fairfax already:

Johns's Qantas Atlas is all over the place

...
Qantas would want us to believe in this commercial that ''you're the reason we fly''. Well, quite. Why do corporations think the public are mugs? For who else would an airline operate? Echidnas?
It's understandable that after what seems a millennium Qantas has ditched the cloying schmaltz of Allen's I Still Call Australia Home, but the replacement is not the answer.

An atlas shows the geography of the world, or a country, or a place. The Qantas Atlas, however, has no direction. And certainly doesn't point the way home.

Here: Johns's Qantas Atlas is all over the place

They aren't 'dumping' ISCAH. They are just using it selectively - if they trotted it out again, the critics would say 'gee they are living in the past' or 'they have no original ideas'. They can't win.

Yes the search works for me now and there is a supporting cast of 60,000 others. I'm getting a strange response with the "Search for a name on a plane". I get a nice picture of an A380 with a floating "number 16" in a circle.
UPDATE. The picture now updates and allows a search for names on A380 B737.
Mines not there so I guess they ran out of paint!
