I sincerely hope that the pilot at the controls of an A380 IS getting 400K pa. I'm pretty sure that passengers of QF32 last year would think the same.

If I'd been on that flight, I would have been happy for all 5 pilots on board to get that! In fact, they obtained more experience on that one flight than many would get in a lifetime, so I'd be happy for the $400k just to be their annual bonus!
