Qantaslink Fokker 100s on BNEROK & BNEMKY

I flew on an F100 ROK-BNE early March 2011 for the first time. The flight and seat were OK but I was not too impressed with the FA's. I do not have high expectations on these flights but it is not nice when the FA's look and behave as if they do not want to be there.

They've certainly become a regular feature on BNE-ROK-BNE - I've had a few trips on them in the last couple of months. Haven't seen one yet on the BNE-MKY-BNE.

Contrary to JohnK's experience, I've yet to encounter a bad Alliance cabin crew. I'm sure I will at some stage though - every airline has sub-par crew members and sometimes, some just having an off day.

Got the F100 yesterday from Mackay.

Plane was immaculate and so was the crew in sorting out a couple of seat allocation SNAFU's performed by the Mackay ground staff. Plane was a bit late arriving and leaving (apparently due to a delay in paperwork from Melbourne  ) but the crew kept the punters up to date and did Mackay to Brisbane in around 1hr 10 mins, much better than 1 hr 40 or so stuck in a Dash 8.

And to make the trip even better, the QP Wifi works in the departure area for the rest of the mug punters.

Flying BN-RK on an FK10 tomorrow. Pleased it's not a DHC8.

DC9s were always noisy at the rear, but otherwise were good aircraft. I happened to be on duty in BN TWR when the first DC9 landed on its trans-Pac delivery flight early in 1968.

Nines weren't a patch on the 727s, or thumpers as they were known to crews and controllers.

Not sure of the context of your post but I have had the pleasure of flying an AY MD11 in both economy and business class many times and loved the experience.

MD11 is a totally different aircraft, its a trijet based on the DC10 Widebody. Each wing has an engine, as in the standard twin, ie 767, but it has a third engine in the tail... A couple crashed when the tail engine had a failure and broke up mid flight
They were a nice plane.
I also used to love the 727-200 at Ansett, front of aircraft was dead quiet, what a lovely aeroplane.
PLUS - - - - - The plumes of black smoke and the roaring crackle when you watched one take off...... What a fantastic time, when you could tell an aeroplane by the sound of it, they were all different, and all LOUD, DO I MISS THEM :lol::lol:
