Qatar Classic Rewards Questions

Hi there

I managed to book a last minute economy flight from Doha to Perth with Virgin Classic Rewards for October.

1) Will I earn any Velocity points or status credits on this flight?
2) Am I able to change the frequent flyer number on my booking, and instead use my Qantas frequent flyer number to earn Status credits if I have reached Qantas Points Club?
3) I downloaded the Qatar App, added my booking details, however when I go to choose my seats it doesn't appear like any seat has been allocated to me and if I want to choose my own, there are fees for this? Is that correct? I would have thought fees would only be for extra legroom, etc but there seems to be a fee for any seat selection?

Being classic awards you are unlikely to earn any points/SC on either QFF or Velocity.

Thanks I thought if you had Qantas Points Club you could earn status credits on classic reward flights, perhaps not with Qatar though?

Also is it normal for Qatar to charge for economy seat section?

The terms and conditions of Points Club indicate SC earn is available for Qantas Marketed flights.

While you can earn them on Qantas marketed flights, that wouldn't apply in this case since it was booked as a Virgin reward. Adding a QF FF number wouldn't change that.

For Virgin reward bookings, yes.

“Bank errors in your favour” have been known to occur for PC/PC+ members. It probably can’t hurt to swap VFF to QFF (if one has PC/PC+) and no significant status with either program.

It's worth a try.

As I have reported elsewhere, CX/MP award bookings on Qantas, and then changing to my QFF# gave me SCs via PC+. Now, obviously, QR is not QF metal, so the SC part might not work. But we all know that there are some glitches ... (and we don't report them here explicitly).

Similar question, can I book a QR flight with Velocity Points and use Oneworld benefits as a Qantas Platinum (for example F Lounge in SYD/MEL) ? Looks like the flights book on QR flight numbers and not VA Codeshares so shouldn't be an issue. Has anyone done this?

Any sign of the 90k award flights to Europe J, 2024??
I know that there are loads of 180k but the value proposition doesn't stack up at that price.
