Does anyone know if Qatar and Singapore interline? And if so, whether they do so on separate tickets?

I have the following itinerary:

Milan - Doha - Singapore with QR (Business) arriving 8:45pm
- overnight in Singapore airside transit hotel -
Singapore - Cairns with SQ (Economy) departing 8:40am (+1)

I'm hoping to check the bags through from Milan to Cairns. Or if QR don't check it through, arrange for SQ to pick up the bag and tag it through at the airside transfer desk. Because I don't think I can pass immigration to re-check if I'm staying airside.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

My scenario last year is not directly comparable but there are parallels, maybe it is helpful. I had separate tickets, SYD-SIN-SYD with SQ in Economy, connecting to SIN-DOH-JNB with QR in Business. Checking in at SYD airport, there was no problem whatsoever for SQ to check my bag through all the way to JNB, returning my suitcase got tagged all the way to Sydney from Johannesburg.

Years (10+?) ago, the transfer desk at SIN re-tagged a bag for me and there was no need to leave the transit area. Things might have changed though, hopefully someone else has experience with the same scenario.

One thing is that is the policies (written or unwritten) of the first carrier that determine if baggage will be through checked, so it's not relevant what SQ would do. I don't think QR allow it to non-one world carriers and questionable now whether they even allow it to other oneworld carriers.

Should be able to get bags retagged at the transfer desk, but worst case scenario, can either go landside immediately after landing, check back in at early check-in for SQ and then return airside to use accommodation.

I had J tickets on TK x Athens via IST to DOH then F from DOH to syd on QF. the desk in Athens refused to tag all the way thru it was covid and I could not get out to collect luggage . no one would help so when I got to DOH I had to demand someone go and get it and re tag luckily I had a long layover and the bags did arrive in Sydney. so my star to OW was a negative.
