Hi all,

I am a Velocity Platinum member and did the status match to Qatar a few year ago. I am about to book flights to Europe and logged on to my Qatar account and saw that I am still platinum with Qatar, I thought it would have expired as I haven't flown them yet. Does anyone else still have their status?

Wow, that's awesome. In that case is it better to travel on Qatar aircraft using QR or Velocity if both Platinum status?
If travelling in Y I'd check in with QR on the bp and then if you want to credit to VA switch FF's. Having your QR number on the booking lets you reserve any seat for free. And you'll get a welcome from the purser on board. Both statuses get you access to the Platinum lounge at DOH.

Can confirm you don't need to have your QR number on the boarding pass to access the relevant lounges. Just need to be travelling in appropriate class and show QR e-card

Interesting. Must just be up to the lounge dragons on the day as a Uncle and Auntie of mine recently flew SYD-DOH-LHR in QR paid J and were denied entry to Al Safwa on the way over as they didn’t have the QR Platinum on their BP. They showed the digital card and still refused. They are crediting it to VA so I probably should suggest to them that when they come home in a few weeks they change the FF number just to be certain.

Must be variable then.
My trip to Al-Safwa was in May 22
I probably could have gone in December 21 too but was directed to Al-Mourjan at the escalators. I had completely forgotten to show my card.
BAEC on BP both times

Yes I was surprised to see I still have Gold until year end. I've dropped to Silver with Virgin in the meantime, so happy to hang on to Oneworld Sapphire :)

In October 2022 I didn't have my number on my boarding pass but they accepted my card on the app
