Can anyone advise what the fee is for a Qatar visa on arrival? QR's web page gives a range. Also, can you pay with credit card or is it cash?

Thanks.

QAR100 (exactly the same as 100AED/38AUD). Payable by credit card at the immigration counter - they don't take AMEX (I think).

Alternatively, if you don't have a credit card they accept, there is a QNB (Qatar National Bank) money exchange booth just to the left of the escalators, where you can pay the 100QAR using an alternate currency/card, and the money is loaded onto a pre-pay debit card that you use to purchase your visa, again at the immigration booth (I think there is a fee for the debit card - 5-10QAR? - can't remember).

Thanks! So you go straight to the normal immigration lines and pay at the same counter? ( in some other places you pay at a booth first, get a chit and hand over that at immigration)

Yeah, I think so. I headed straight for the immigration counters, and they accepted card payments there!

It's very easy - takes 2 mins. Especially if you fly J on QR or oneworld - you can use the J arrival lounge which has its own immigration counter to exit where there are never queues. once you exit there is another arrival lounge outside in the public area. Great setup.

Thanks again. And so it was.

Good to know#. Only whY on this occasion (just a short hop down from Baku), and arriving at mid night local. It was a shambles!! Huge line for immigration but, thank my lucky stars, they opened up another 6 counters just after I arrived and took from about 15 people in front of me to populate the new counters queue, so got through pretty quickly.

# but I suspect with the "Even Simpler and Fairer" (TM) earn tables, there won't be very much QR J going on!
