QC access to Fiji Airways Nadi Lounge

Hi all. I'm looking to book a Qantas Codeshare flight from Nadi - Sydney - Adelaide. The Qantas Club page shows access to the Fiji Airways Lounge for QC members on Qantas Flight numbers. The Fiji Airways Lounge sight states only for Qantas Gold/Platinum. Qantas started flying to Nadi direct from 31st March. There is a significant price difference between booking Qantas or Virgin/Jetstar. The lounge access would be worth it though.

Would the lounge access have changed since Qantas metal is flying in, or is Qantas wrong?

Yes this did change on the 31st when Qantas flights started to Nadi.

Previously (before the QF101/102) Qantas Club card holders had no access in Nadi.

This changed and now the allow Qantas club card holders access prior to QF marketed flights (can be operated by QF, FJ or JQ) with one guest on the same flight. These rules are also the same for QF Gold and Platinum.

It's worth noting that the Fiji Airways lounge is also a priority pass lounge and also allows paid entry for $99 FJD (~$66 AUD per person) so if the difference is more than A$66 then I'd booked the cheaper option and just pay for entry.

For Future reference - not all destinations serviced by Fiji Airways are Qantas codeshares. You'd need to be booked on one of the following flight numbers:

We haven't tried it. Last time we flew Fiji Airways in Y, so weren't eligible.

We were pleasantly surprised as not only was hot food surprisingly good quality, they had a cart of local Fijian desserts --- I got all my family in via PP and my teenagers really enjoyed the food!

Nope the only benefits that all OW status holders get on the FJ code is priority check in and boarding.

Only BA, CX, AA and QF oneworld members get the ability to earn and burn on FJ flights (including the FJ code).

This becomes even more strict with lounge access only for BA, CX, AA and QF status holders who get access to the FJ lounge when booked on the code of the airline they hold the status with and the lounges operated by their airline.

Could not believe it but you're right. Didn't QF elites always get lounge access in NAN when flying on a QF code share?

Interesting that. From the first announcement it included the FJ code, well my interpretation, for its 4 sponsors. But I admit that it may have been hidden in the lounge access policy in their website.

I now will not consider flying FJ as I can get access to the NZ lounges flying NZ to/from WLG. QF codeshares are often more expensive.

In Fiji, everything is negotiable and accessible, for a price. Considering that a weekly wage for a school teacher is A$25 per week, just for a comparison, anything can be achieved. I used to live in Fiji, in their main industrial city, which is just 25kms from the airport, and flying in and out was like catching a bus for me. FJ still allows upgrades for peanuts between SYD and LAX. Get your UG and free access to the Lounge. Bula!

I notice that FJ again has cost effective airfares from BNE to LAx for travel net year. I can see that as a QF Gold I'll earn some QFF and SCs. Lounge access seems cryptic though with FJ being a OneWord Connect. From my reading of FJ lounge access

Oneworld Connect description says :

Access to select lounges at key airports for First or Business Class passengers or those with eligible top-tier frequent flyer status.

Fuji Premier Lounge says - Qantas Gold, Platinum, Platinum One, and Chairman’s Lounge Members**

With the double ** saying only if booked on a QF flight number.

So, if I fly on FJ then it's a no complimentary to lounge access. (but a yes to a few days of tropical island stopover)

Only if in J on the FJ code.but it is a nice lounge.A reasonable brekkie buffet but you could also order an omelette or eggs benedict.

They wouldn't let us in when booked on QF ticket with JQ aircraft. Qantas agreed they should though.

So it seems the only guaranteed entry is on a QF ticket on either QF of FJ metal for Platinum in economy?....
