I think when natt says AA lounge it is (possibly) referring to the (non existant) Air Asia lounge.

Whoops .. I meant the United Red Carpet Lounge (through the Priority Pass Scheme)

I think I might go get a second cup of coffee - its obvious the first has not worked properly on my brain!

Sorry all - just having a blonde moment....

Sooold!.... at that price!

See PM.

Being the wonderful son that I am, I am accompanying my parents on a trip to the US in August '09. I have QC membership, and have silver status. I would love to get both my parents into the Sydney lounge.

Has anyone had any luck getting 2 guests into the lounge without a qc pass? If not, boy don't I have a hard decision!!

If you happen to be travelling on August 24 then this is your lucky day.

Otherwise you are at the mercy of the front desk lounge staff. I have heard stories of children allowed as additional guests but you don't hear many stories of adults allowed as additional guests of a Qantas Club member. See if you can get a hold of a complimentary Qantas Club pass....

I am taking my partner to LA with me and have a Comp pass for QP from my PS (Hey look at me learning all the abreviations) for myself but would obviously like to be able to bring in my guest... and have read all sorts of ways of people trying to round up extra comps from Ebay and swapping to just plain begging... what I am wondering is if anyone has ever had success with just plain old asking nicely ? Or suggesting that we may like to join up and would like to try thier services ? yes cheesey I know but has anyone tried this ?

When is your FF membership anniversary? If you requalify for Silver status before August, you will be sent a comp invitation with your FF membership silver status renewal kit.

First, I have two passes expiry in May 2009 that I would like to swap for expiry in June 2009 (or later). These were acquired through Amex and come with the hologram (happy to send scans). Anyone able to assist?
I may be able to assist. You have a PM....

And with that Kages earns a free QP pas on his/her first post. Good work! Am looking forward to the 'extended and uncut' Lounge and Trip Report in return thanks  Just kidding, enjoy the lounge ;)

Last month party of 4 (me, friend, adult daughter and 93 year old aunt) were booked SYD-HBT. No problem with Club access as I am Gold and friend is Qantas Club. However at last minute friend was sick and had to cancel. Forgot about 1 guest rule until approaching entrance. Being somewhat rule-abiding nearly walked away but thought well at least I can take elderly aunt in wheelchair in and daughter can go browse shops.

Started to say "I can only bring one guest in, can't I" when interrupted with "that's ok you can all go in". Very grateful as it is much easier getting food, drink, bathroom visits etc with two helpers rather than just one.

scibo10 how old are your parents, do they look frail, would one like a wheelchair ride around airport? Just kidding:)

Alanslegal, the uncut report is likely to be no more "racey" than the polite version.
Schlepping between capitals in discount cattle class.
Except this time i get to fight over the dim sims and spring rolls in the QP.
However I will let you know. Many thanks to mrblobbyaus for his sterling generosity.

I find it interesting that in another thread, someone with the same number of posts was bashed down and told in no uncertain terms they should not be receiving a free QP pass from anyone here ... yet the opposite seems to be the case for kages.

A clear case of YMMV!

Agree but the cases are slightly different. In one case it was a new member specifically asking for 2 Qantas Club passes and in the other someone offered a Qantas Club pass to the first PM received and kages asked and received the pass on this thread.

The logical thing to me would have been that Danger was the recipient of it, and then as mrblobbyaus doesn't require any passes anyway Danger could have given his pass(es?) to kages:!:

Ahh logical! Sometimes logic is not practical or too time consuming or too chaotic to attempt to organise efficiently.

There is a possibility though that Danger will get 2 passes with a much later expiry date than the ones in his possession now. ;)

JohnK to the rescue? ;)
