Ok so my Qantas Club membership expired and I have Silver status. I should get Gold in the next couple months as have a lot of international flights coming up but obviously I can't use QC facilities for these flights unless I renew my membership. Is there any short term QC membership eg pay for 2 months worth that anyone knows about?

Cheers

If you qualify for Gold then your current QC membership is suspended and the remaining amount becomes avalable when/if you fail to achieve gold status - so there's no need to worry about taking QC membership for a short term (which I don't believe is available)

I was in a similar situation a couple of years ago and purchased 2 more years of QC membership. I figure at some stage I'm likely to drop below gold so I may as well have 22 months of QC membership in reserve at today's prices. If I never drop below Gold then I've likely done my dough though I've heard of some people who, upon reaching LTG, have managed a refund of sorts.

Another thought regarding "banking" some Qantas Club membership is that this year you will pay less than you may pay in future years. :D

I couldn't find anywhere on the Qantas website that indicates that your paid membership goes on hold when you get gold (nice rhyme) and resumes when you lose it. Will take your word for it Mwenenzi thanks. Now I have to check which of the airports have qantas club facilities. Perth/Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne should all be good then I have Los Angeles/Boston/Fort-Worth and maybe Miami.

If you are flying AA, here is the blurb on the site.

Maybe not on the Qantas site, but this is what red roo has had to say

We keep a record of your QC membership status when you reach Gold (or Platinum), and if you ever return to Silver or Bronze that remaining membership will kick in again.
