Hi,

(First post, but I've been lurking around here and there for a while)

My QC is up for renewal, and the past few years I've joined and renewed under my company's corporate rates. It seems we no longer have a corporate scheme, so I'm left to my own devices now (and I had been personally paying for QC previously, as I didn't meet the corporate guidelines for them to pay).

I realise I can join AFF Gold for $50/yr and get $70 of QC - from the links, would that be $485/yr QC or do I just have my maths all wrong?
Any other suggestions for cheaper QC rates?

Thanks for any tips/help.

Thanks for clarifying that serfty. :)

Am flying Y+ BNE-LAX-BNE next month (and points flights with UA LAX-MSY-LAX) and really want to have access to QC and my membership expires this month ... :(

You might get a one month grace period - which is what was told to one of my colleagues recently.

Slightly ot, I've ben on a QP 2yr corporate membership which is due to end in May next year. I'd renew it, but i'll reach SG in October. Don't know if I'll make gold agin next year, so can I renew or join a corporate rate at the end of my gold membership year? Cheers.

Quite a few travel agencies have their own corporate schemes for their staff and clients to access, that might be worth looking at.

Qantas will 'bank' your unused QP membership, so when your Gold runs out it will restart again. If you had no time left on your QP membership when your Gold runs out, I believe there is a grace period where you can join/rejoin the QP scheme without a joining fee.

Yes, you get 3 months grace period after dropping from SG to PS.

Are you sure its 3 months? If you're a paid QP member and don't renew you get a grace period of 6 months to renew again without repaying the joining fee.

If a paid QP member achieves SG status, their QP membership is suspended until the SG's status drops back to PS, at which time the QP membership is re-activated for the remaining subscription period.

I think V8 is considering his remaining three months as well as an additional 3 months grace as non QP members are getting.

It's moot for me (I hope) since I attained LTSG.

That is much better worded then my feeble attempt :)

I somehow think that QF would only give me 3 months. However, I don't plan to find out :)

Re qualified for WP until end OCT'10. So long way off even if I never step foot on another plane!

We only allow a 3 month grace period before you will need to pay a joining fee again regardless of how your QF Club membership has lapsed. (demotion from Gold or not)

You will not be able to have access to the club after 1 month.

This happened to me a couple of years ago ... pretty nice that it resumes if you don't meet SG requirements again!
