The only thing I really care about is where someone in row 39 or equivalent whacking their bag in row two or three as they walk past. The toilet really isn’t special on a 737-800 so I don’t care.
Fair point. In hindsight, it is very unfair of any complaint toward Virgin staff as nearly every staff member I have had has done a fab job (and I make sure I provide that as feedback). I suppose it is easier to make the comments toward the “face of the brand” rather than issues needing to be addressed further up the chain.1. They have the maximum compliment of crew which is usually 6.
2. They serve everything complimentary so it's easier and faster service wise, hand it out and cya.
The only flights it's been denied on for me were CBR-SYD and NTL-BNE. The CBR-SYD was turbulent and NTL-BNE was after a significant delay which meant we were happy to get in the air, but other things such as the ability to heat water was not possible. You’re lucky to get tea and coffee on all flights! Several times MEL to SYD and vv have been deemed ‘too short’ to offer hot drinks on the flights I was on
Thanks for the heads up I for one will not be using Virgin for this route if flying business that's for sureJust experienced Business Class Brisbane to Perth return on VA462 from Brisbane on 31 October 2024 and on 5th November 2024 VA471.
Because there is no partition between Business Class and Economy on this plane, you have economy class passengers using the forward toilet usually reserved for Business and Cabin crew.
On the BNE to Perth route the cabin manager to my horror announced after take off that economy class passengers were welcome to use the forward toilet as well as the 2 at the rear.
On the Perth to Brisbane flight the cabin manager did not allow this, but the crew were constantly hassled by passengers because of this.
What on earth was the idea to not fit a cabin partition between business on these planes?
We had people queuing beside our business seats - we literally had business class seats become the 'seats beside the toilet'.
Idiotic.

It arguably devalues J (business), which I am sure they are well aware of.Thanks for the heads up I for one will not be using Virgin for this route if flying business that's for sure
Absolutely. I recall executive flyer following a discussion with VA had been told it was coming ..like 12 months ago. Yeah right! I know the CC don't like hearing about it but I think it's a point that still is required to be made on.board as well as by other means. It's not the biz pax that makes this rule and the CC should in theory police access. 1c and 1d particularly can suffer with pax "milling".It arguably devalues J (business), which I am sure they are well aware of.
The air dividers and associated curtains or alternative barriers are nothing new, even Qantas has its version.
Time to pull their finger out and get these installed, it is not exactly an expensive replacement to the wall divider.
Couldn't agree more, it makes it very difficult trying to join the back of the queue.1c and 1d particularly can suffer with pax "milling".
Virgin still deciding where the hanging divider will hang from.So if it's underway ...can anyone name one aircraft with the new hanging divider? Also I assume this is work undertaken under contract with milestones yet they can't actually provide any timescales whatsoever?. Somehow it's hard to.believe.
Not being funny here… but didn’t VA say last year they needed to plan a ‘launch event’ for the new divider? So no launch event = no new divider
Given the lack of dividers, lack of action, lack of schedule, I surmise its not a priority for them.
To busy devaluing the FF programme! Not being funny here… but didn’t VA say last year they needed to plan a ‘launch event’ for the new divider? So no launch event = no new divider
I’m sure i read it here on AFF? Or there was a link to it. Quote from the airline. Maybe it was in the $110m config thread?Either the 'launch party' for the divider sounds like 'fake news' or it just someone else trying to be funny and it was somewhat ended up taken seriously.
